I would assume they already have their cars. As I ordered late November or early December and my car is being built this week.

Did you order from the wrong dealer?

Beware of dealers that are full of BS. The following is from a previous post I made and for those of you who have already ordered or those that are placing an order it is worth your time to read.

My order was scheduled for production and serialized in December. To be more precise my order was placed on 11/26 and by 12/14 I had already received a complete VIN and was assigned a production week of 1/10. Vehicle was built 1/12. Vehicle arrived at my dealer on 1/24. Every piece of information my dealer gave me was accurate and actually happened when I was told it would happen.

Total number of days from order to arrival - 59 days including the week long shut down at Christmas!

I have experienced NONE of the ordering issues, broken promises, misleading information, and other problems associated with the IUP delay that most seem to be having. When I placed my order I drove 60 miles to one of the largest and most reputable dealers in Central Florida. I have a small dealership about 6 miles from where I live but did not order with them because they would not give me any information concerning how many GTs their dealership had been allocated, offered me nothing for my trade in and said that vehicle would take months to arrive - not a good way to start off. That is why I went to a dealer that had several GTs sitting on the lot for immediate sale, receives several more truckloads each week, and had rows of V6s ready for immediate delivery. The only reason I ordered was because the dealer wouldn't X-Plan a vehicle on the lot but agreed to let me use my X-Plan if I ordered. The dealer calls me weekly with an update.

I suggest if your not getting that kind of commitment from your dealer - FIND ANOTHER DEALER!! Most of the complaints are dealer issues and not directly related to the manufacturer. Do your homework on the dealer before placing your order.

By the way I did something that was rather childish but sure made me feel good. I went directly to the small dealership I mentioned earlier and showed them the vehicle that they would not sell on X-Plan, offered me nothing for my trade-in and said would take months to get. The salesman that was not allowed to make the deal was furious with his manager and brought him out to see the vehicle he was not allowed to sell. Unfortunately the sales manager really didn't seem to care. Oh well.

I'd say this dealer is having allocation issues that he conveniently forgot to tell you about.

I ordered my almost loaded GT on 15 Oct, got a VIN 22 Oct, car built on 24 Nov, took delivery on 14 Dec.

Mustangshadow, something seems very fishy about your order status. What is your dealer telling you? Have you asked the dealer for a copy of your Dora. If they cannot produce that, then maybe they never placed the order for some reason. I ordered the day after you and have had the car since Dec 16th. It was dropped off at the railhead mixing lot Dec 6th and finally got delivered via truck on Dec 15th.
I gave you the above dates not to brag by no means, but to inform you that something just does not seem right with your order. Really press your dealer for info and good luck to you.

trust me BEACHBOY i understand and God knows i have tried i go in there for example i called my dealer last week thursday (for update) told him who i was ect. and was checking on my order he chuckled a bit and said its still on material hold i told him thats funny i called last week and they said the material hold had been lifted so whos lying he also slipped up and said you only placed your order late Nov. early Dec. i said NO your wrong i ordered in OCT ...he stumbled with his words a bit and said oh yeah how time flies so the only reason i can think they have not produced a DORA for me to see is because that will tell me they didnt place my actual order till then ....like a month or so later. I am so tired of dealing with these guys and yes i have looked for another stang at dealers and by chance found one close to what i wanted only they wouldnt except X plan and laughed at me and my wife. I am getting tired of waiting and yes i put a deposit down i even told my dealer i was going to pull my order but my wife and mom talks me out of it for fear of going to the back of the line....i dunno i am afraid to even call my dealer tomorrow for an update...just to hear the same freakin thing...blah blah blah hot car gonna take awhile sir everything is going to be ok

i have talked to several dealers around me here including Brandon Ford which is the 8th largest Ford dealer and told them my situation they said they infact could order me a car and would take sum time to get it in so i am in this spot do i pull my order go elswhere and wait again or wait and maybe things will roll with my dealer where i have been in line since Oct. what makes it difficult for me and my wife is that we would like an GT with automatic and that seems to be a hard find around here then when you add in some of the features i couldnt live without like the IUP ....sorry for the rant maybe tomorrow my dealer will have something for me i would love to have at least a build date...

Ordered 11/21. As of 1/20, build week scheduled for 2/14.

Scheduling has everything to do with priorities set by the dealer. They can very effectively control build orders as they see fit.

Sorry, dude.

Have you tried talking to the Sales Manager or the Owner? I would go right over the salesman's head. Like Beachboy said, something is DEFINITELY wrong here! That timeframe is way out of whack! Good luck!!
