My GT 5 speed was built end of May. Have been noticing that the transmission is really noisy during both first and second gears but seems to be much quieter for the other gears. doesn't seem to matter if I am turning or whatever. That and my gas guage sometimes doesn't realize I have fueled up. Anyone have this happen. Car has 3600 miles on it now and have had the fuel guage foul up four times so far.

I had my transmission replaced 3 weeks ago for the same problem. Dealer said they had never heard a transmission make a noise like mine did. It took them 7 days to get the tranny in. New transmission is quieter but still noisy. I have drove one other GT and it was much quieter than mine. I'm not sure if I still have a problem or not. Car is going back to dealer to have whine in rear end checked and for the gas tank replacement. I'll have them take a look at the trans again.

I hope you have better luck with yours.

Probably does not apply in your case but when I first got the car, I noticed it was very noisy in first, second and it sounded like the transmission area. Turned out that a bracket for the brake line was not attached and that was making the noise
