I dunno man. I've taken many a sharp corner in my 6 and feel totally safe as well. Also, the V6 is no slouh either. Granted its not packing 300 horses, but its def not sluggish in any way. Was the car in drive or was the dealer pushing it in N?

You know i just watched a Top Gear episode where the Stig peddled an Evo VIII MR edition around there track faster than a 911 Turbo, man if i owned a 911 would i feel like a small cack, but i don't have a 911 turbo no compensation needed.
obviously you don't get it, you wont get, complaining about a shifter, comparing to an AWD turbo flat four. I've never seen motor trend run of a comparison article between the chevy malibu and the ford F150 or between Porsche 911 and a Mercedes E-series wagon, or any wagon vs a pony car. But if you got anymore apples and orange comparisons feel free to post it in the "Look at me I'm funny" forums.

Unless he graduated college on a NBA scholorship, it's doubtful that any financial institution would loan a youngster that much coin. :notnice:

Really, a good synopsis.
One thing the Mustang lacks is that it doesn't engage the driver like it should.
I don't feel like I'm at 'one' with the car...what with it's 'wooden' brake feel, awful manual transmission, solid rear axle inspired by a horse carriage. Steering is too light.
The car is really more for boulavard cruising...and that's ok by me.
And...if I really want to feel at one with a machine, I ride a motorcycle.

I was also wondering how a kid merely one year out of college could afford an 03 Turbo (after recently buying a 24,000 dollar car). Edmunds currently lists the value for a 2003 Porsche Turbo from $147,010 as a trade-in to $152,857 for a Private party sale, to an astounding $162,726 as the dealer's retail. For those who are math challenged (including myself) let me grab a calculator...thats between 5-6 Mustang GT's depending on options. So why don't you just say what you mean. Daddy gave you a Porsche for half price (if you even paid that) and you want to show us how cool you are by demeaning the car we have all congregated to celebrate by means of your alleged automotive superiority. So...thanks! I SWEAR, we will invite you to the next bar-b-que.

P.S. I have driven the Forrester (my aunt was considering buying one, and since I am the resident car FREAK in my family, she took me with) and I can tell you...it's not that fast. And it certainly doesn't FEEL faster than an 05 Mustang GT either.

Speaking of 1968, it's all what you make it.
I have a 68 GT 4 speed and this one. I don't think the stock 68 which I've been in since 68.......... was ever any tighter than the '05. Plus there is so much cheap aftermarket stuff out there to tweak it. The stock computer settings are probably part of the issue but I'd give it another try. Just my thought.

yea good luck with ur 911 but the part where u say sophistication....ITS A SPORTS CAR!! AN AMERICAN SPORTS CAR!! if we had all the gadgets and sophistication of a europeon or japanese coupe, our beloved mustangs would be well over $30,000, thus totally destroying the goal of FORD MUSTANG. now my job includes driving cars and i get to drive everything from beat up toyotas to BENZ s55 amg's. now yes these cars r sophisticated, very well at the least, but us men here dont need a navigation system. and sluggish u say about this car?? well now please not to bash or anything please pass whatever ur smoking because u must not have been driving....if u were then wake up. but lets not compare the mustang to a 911 because look at the price lets be sensible here. u say the gearshift is like molassas...well then i donno what kinda molassas u use but from experiance with many stick cars, its better than most if not all. and about taking corners, once again its a mustang.....plain and simple. and picking up speed sloppy?? i dont know where ur getting this. we once had a fellow member on this site say the same and settles for a g35 instead of the mustang. soo good luck with ur 911 or w/e u plan on getting but think about all the car u get for $27,000. i dont ask for it but ive never gotten soo much attention in my life. i mean at work my car is parked next to a freakin SLK 500 and everyone is looking at my car...sooo "sophistication" or whatever u may call it can just take a hike

This sounded more like a promo for the "Fast and the Furious III" than a real story. "Yo bra, my Forester is tight. Them Mustangs, well, when they was old school they was cool, but now I just double-clutch it and hit the nawz.....it's all good." I'm not buying it.
