Doesn't that thing have the same engine as the WRX(2.5L Turbo). So how can one go 0-60 in like 6 and the other go in 5.3? Also the WRX is prolly lighter right? That's confusin.

As an aside, I'm not suggesting in the slightest anyone buy a Forrester. While the XT model (turbocharged) is certainly a good car to drive, it is only that: a good car to drive. I'll reiterate that if the Mustang's engine were better, I'd have been a lot more interested in the car. I wanted a sports car that could put a grin on my face as I take a corner, or press down on the pedal. Every time I've ever gotten out of the '68, I've had a grin that wouldn't go away. Hence, why I'm still intrested in the Shelby variant in '07. If its as good as they already say, I'll be trading in the Porsche in a heartbeat. Last, I'm not trying to flame the Mustang, just giving my impressions. I, like many others, use car forums to find out information on a potential purchase; and if you head over to the Porsche forum, you can see I have also done a simple post explaining why I chose the 911.
And to the guy 2 posts above this, it was $79k for a car with only 1100 miles on the odometer. Which is fair market value, and I'm not about to swindle my father.

After reading akara's post, I have come to the conclusion that there are only three distinct possibilities for him posting this strange thread. Here they are, listed in order of probability:
1. He is a Troll.
2. He drove a seriosuly screwed up GT.
3. The dealer conned him. He was thrown in an aftermarket dual exhaust V6 and was told it was really a V8.

how does the Mustang not put a grin on your face? I could see it if you were going from the Porsche to the Mustang, MAYBE, but you were driving a FORRESTER before! A Mustang GT is faster and handles better than a FORRESTER, so what exactly were you looking for????? The Mustang is not going to compare to a $90K Porsche - duhhhhhhhhhh

Yes, yes, it cost me more than triple the asking price of the Mustang
A person who would buy a 93 Porsche 911 for aprox. $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 is not a very good judge of anything. His father hates him.

That had to be a V6... I take can take tight corners in my GT fast enough to shift me in my seat, and that's with no suspension mods. Plus it goes whenever I touch the gas, if I'm passing someone on the highway in 3rd I have to pay attention so that I don't get nailed for doing 90 in a 60. A V6 is the ONLY semi-reasonable conclusion for his opinion of the 300hp GT.
I don't think he's a troll or a tool, I think he's an idiot.
A fool and his money are quickly parted.

While you are entitled to your opinion, I freaking disagree. The 05 Mustang has all the passion of the older models, plus is much more refined. I just received mine this morning as we speak and while it takes a bit to get used to, this car is awesome. The interior is a heck of an improvement, plus you got power and style to boot. Last I checked if you want to magazine race, Mustang GT can do 0-60 in 5.1 to 5.2 and can do the quarter in mid 13s. But I am thinking 2 posts on your side, I see how some people would think you are a troll, but I guess we are all entitled to our own opinion.
a forester, I mean come on, I wouldn't care if the thing did 0 to 60 in 3 seconds flat, that thing is totally devoid of style and substance.
