Ok... first put the flame throwers away. I'm not defending this guy. I think he's crazy to think the Mustang is slow and unresponsive. But when someone states the truth and is told it is wrong, I must defend. The Forester XT will indeed do 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. (Of course, everything else he wrote is complete rubbish).

Of course the really funny thing is when you compare the gas mileage.
Mustang
EPA city driving: 17 mpg
EPA highway driving: 25 mpg
Forester
EPA city driving: 18 mpg
EPA highway driving: 23 mpg

please give me some of what your smoking. the mustang is rated at manual as doing 4.9 seconds and the automatic is rated at doing it at 5.1 seconds. And in no way are these cars even comparable. good luck

Either you are a Mustang enthusiest, or you are not. Comparing a Forrester to a Mustang is like comparing Jay Leno (ugly) to a Playboy Playmate (). Obviously, you are young and really have no heritage with the Mustang. However, I do hope you enjoy your Porsche. For that kind of money (which I am sure your daddy probably gave you a really good price - if not free) I could drop a Cammer in my current GT or buy the new Shelby in addition to my current GT.
Have a nice day. P.S. if you like, you can do a Google search for "Subaru Forum" - you might find you are much more welcome there.

Obviously a troll...
But in any case, enjoy your, er Forrester with its 5.3 0-60 times. Maybe there's a Forrester forum somewhere on the 'Net that you could enjoy...car like that's got to have a big following.

It's TOOL! And here's how you know he's full of ca-ca... #1. I doubt anybody even had a GT on their lot at the time of that post and #2 if they did, I'm not thinking they'd let just anybody test drive it. It was a V6 and this fool (or is it tool?) did not know the difference.
And the sad part, this Tool prolly won't even come back to read the responses, so I write this for all of the TMS regulars! Or is that premiums?

First off, in regards to the Mustang, you sir, must me one of maybe 3 or 4 people who DON'T like the car. I haven't yet talked to one person who doesn't like driving their new Mustang, V6 OR GT. I also haven't heard 1, I repeat 1 negative comment on my car from passers by, and it's only a V6. When every auto publication from here to the U.K. (Evo, CAR, Top Gear), praise the new Mustang for the way its made, its powerplant, and most importantly the "Bang for the Buck" factor, nothing else out there even comes close. I sure you can say the 350Z is better becaues of the IRs, but look at how much it costs, and it still can't beat it in 0 to 60. I'm glad you didn't buy one. If you did, you would probably come on this forum and complain about the smallest of things. I'm glad you didn't get one, as someone who really wants one can have the one you may have bought......
Oh, and one more small thing. I hope you enjoy your service bills on that Porsche Twin Turbo, once the warranty runs out. . You should ask the service writer at your dealership for all the TSB's on your car. I saw a list on a GT2 Porsche, and there were 36!!!. For the price of that Twin Turbo, you could have bought a GT, and added some real amazing hop-up engine accesories to it, and made it real nice. Enjoy being anomomous while driving.

Well I guess the:
Nissan 350z,
Porsche Boxter,
Infinity G35,
Mazda RX8,
etc...
Are all crap too because they are slower than the Mustang....
Nice troll, you got plenty of bites and some were gut hooked....

This entire thread is WAAAAAY too funny! The Mustang have no passion? That was a dead give-away since the Mustang is a wealth of passion... and history...
And then to compare it to a station wagon? The only thing more obvious would have been to compare it to a WRX with that half-mile tall spoiler...
Nice try but I agree with others that this thread is flame bait.

Thats the only odd thing you found?? His whole post and understanding of a mustang is odd IMO. :notnice:
I am very pleased with my car, and I have the V6!! I doubt he drove the GT and found it to be slow. Just let him drive home in his stationwagon SUV --- :P
He just came on here to rant & start trouble ---- Im surprised he even remembered his name/password.

I must say we sure are bashing this guy in here aren't we. So let me start with a and a
Sure, there are some people out in the world that don't like the new stang, and they have their opinions, which if they new what was good for them they would keep their opinions to themselves
I only agree with his statement about the forrester running in the low 5's. The rest of his statements are hilarious at best. This car just screams "passion". Perhaps you wouldn't dare go into a turn really fast, or couldn't because the dealer was the one behind the wheel. This car rocks. I have had over 16 cars in my lifetime and this is the best one yet. I have not spent so much time and money customizing a car to make it stand out from the others, not like it didn't do that already. I love this car. Can't say the same for the Forester that is parked next to it at work.

Buh-bye! Enjoy the over-priced Porsche, and higher maintenance turboed, lower fuel-effieciency Forrester.
