Thumbs down

If you wanted to put bigas rear tires on an SN95 you needed to roll the fenderlips (Saleen did this standard on all their cars). I noticed the new model has no fenderlips anymore from factory. So slam on those biggies

Does it seem like metalic paint hides orange peel better? I noticed it on a black V6 I went and looked at.

It's not that it isn't clear....more of not being smooth as glass but, in fact like the texture of the outside of an orange peel.

Well I noticed it on the Torch Red one I saw this week, and was a bit concerned until I went home and found "orange peel" on my 2004 Honda Pilot and my 2000 Nissan P/U!

Then I wasn't so concerned anymore.

OMG orange peel city. That is awful. My 97 GT had none, same with my 2000 Grand Prix GTP(black) and 2003 Jeep Renegade (black). Come on FORD. If Chrysler (hold back all the hisses and boo's) can paint a car without orange peel you should be able to.

thanks

but can't you wet sand your car, wax it and the orange peal will be gone?

One has to be careful cause your clear coating would also be "gone" with too much wet sanding. Especially with factory paint.

The point is that you shouldn't have to wet sand your BRAND NEW CAR. It should be a quality paint job from the factory. Why would you buy something that you had to put work into right away (except for mods). If I'm paying $28,000 for a car I should be happy with the paint.

Note to everyone.....All new cars have orange peel. Even my friends 80k 646CI had it. I heard it is caused because of the evironmentally friendly paint they use.
