OK - I emailed to ask why mine showed Railcar, when they had told me that the dealer wouldn't get it until late November since I don't arrive until December.

She wrote back stating that she spent a couple of days trying to get Ford NOT to ship it, but it was too late, it is gone. She stated that Ford told her they are releasing ALL vehicles with delivery dates BEFORE 31 December because they do not have the storage space to keep them at the AAI lot with current production levels.

SO - yes, they are all being shipped. Don't believe the BS lies people are posting.

I called the dealership I'm supposed to pick mine up from in St Petersburg (Walker Ford). They said mine would be in town this week and they'd email me to let me know when it arrives.

I think people don't realize how long it takes to ship these vehicles. When I bought my Pilot earlier this year, it took 3 week's to show up at the dealer once it was built and placed in an in-transit status. So hang in there, they'll be here soon!

True, I figure 10-14 days via railcar. It was loaded up on the 4th.

It matters not to me........I still won't get there til December. I'm just hoping they'll put it someplace safe and away from scratching hazzards!

Make sure they do not use it for test drives! Remember, do not accept it if there are more than 20 miles on it!

That's funny. Everyone else is trying to get there's earlier and can't. You try to get it later and they ship it earlier.

Is it even possible for a dealer to have the factory hold the car once its built? I don't think it is. Once that car is built, the factory isn't going to sit around and hold it for the dealer. Its taking up real estate at the plant, and thats valuable property. If the dealer wants to hold it for a customer, thats up to the dealer. Kevin or one of the sales guys, chime in here if this is right or wrong.

Flyinlow, you are partially right. When it was built, the information I was given is that they needed my pickup date because Ford does not usually release it until 30 days out. That way it isn't sitting at the dealership too far in advance. With this vehicle though - they are producing lots of them, and need the space at AAI apparently.

I've been told by the Fleet Sales Mgr that no one will test drive the car, that it won't be placed in the showroom, etc.

My cousin lives nearby, so once I know the car is at the dealership, he is going to go over and see where it is. He has the VIN - so if it is sitting in the showroom, etc........I'm gonna freakin lose my bananas on someone. We'll see. Having it in the showroom opens it up to 10,000 people sitting in it, on it, etc. No thanks.
