Hey Tom, my sentiments exactly . That is why my car is going directly to the body shop after prep and inspection, to get Shelby stripes painted on . Tom, in your opinion, does the Guardsman Blue look like the pics of the Vista Blue GT that is on this site?

Just remember, the Vista GT is in the sun, while the fastback is too, but there are shadows from the house, and trees next to the car, hence the difference in color. I think it's a close call. Anyone is more than welcome to add their thoughts on this new color. I'd like to hear what you and others are thinking. .
What color stripes are you getting? I am thinking like you!

Hi Mike. 2 minds do think better than 1 . I'm planning on white, but I am torn between the sizing. It's either going to be 2 10" with a 1.5" gap OR I'll go with true Shelby specifications, that start at 9 1/4 on the bumpers, go from 9 1/4 to 10 1/2 on the hood, 10 1/2 to 10 3/8 on the roof, to 10 1/8 at the trunk by the rear glass to 10 inches the rest of the way down to the bottom of the rear bumper, with a constant 2" gap. Check out the pic I enclosed that shows the dimensions . I don't know what I should do? I am starting to lean towards the picture below. I have plenty of time to think about it though, lol

Hey Jeff, Yeah I would have to say they do come darn close to matching each other. As far a stripes go I am thinking satin silver or performance white. Leaning toward white though

Very nice! It doesn't seem that the stripe sizes that you are considering are all that different. I guess an inch could make a difference. I vote for the Shelby spec.

I am probably going to go with the ones ford sells, I like the big stripes but sometimes they distract from the car's color and style IMO.
especially on blue though adrenalin's(spelling?) is an example of one done right. His is sonic blue though and sonic is a darker blue then vista so the stripes help bring out the color. No matter what though stripes(no matter what kind) look like a must for vista owners.

Yeah Tom, aren't they close! I always loved that color on Mustangs and Cobras, and to have an iteration of Guardsman Blue on a new GT is fantastic IMO. . As far as stripe colors for your car, I think you can't go wrong with either color. Silver would be different, as most would probably be getting white, but then again, white would really make the car look like a '66.

The funny thing, for some reason, that I can't get out of my mind, is what would GOLD STRIPES look like on Vista Blue. You know, sort of a modern day GT 350H Hertz. Something to thnk about .

Thanks for your vote Mike . I am really leaning towards the Shelby. You would have to have a keen eye to see the suttle change in width on the hood, as the width only gets a little more than an inch wider. It would be a taper on the outer part of each stripe. The gap size difference would be a bit noticable, and I'll tell you why. There is a Ford GT on my showroom floor, and the gap on these stripes is less than 1", too close for me. I was liking the 1.5" but after seeing the picture of the white GT on here that is in Germany, that has a 2" gap, that realy sinched it for me.

I was thinking the exact same thing, but my dealer said one thing that mad up my mind for me...The 2005/2006 is a wider car than the original shelby's. Whereas the original specs are nice for nostalgic purposes, they will not really look the same. The SLIGHTLY wider stripes seem to fit THIS body style better.

I'll be getting the wider stripes.

I cant wait

Oh, by the way, if you have a shop that will be csutom making your vinyl stripes to your specs and colors....COnsider, on the vista blue, a VERRRRY light shade of grey....almost white, like a ghost grey color....that would look sweet too.

Heres another question....How do you think the two shelby style stripes would compare to the single white stripe down the middle with the 2 fat pin stripes on either side on the vista??

Hey Brian, that is a great point in regards to the size of the new car to the old car. I'll have to do some research. I think any combination of stripes wouls look good on this color, it's just up to your own personal preference. If you did the 1 wide with 2 thin pin stripes, it would look good, as most wouls have the normal 2 stripes.

Also Brian, I like the idea of a light grey color for the stripes. This would look fantastic. with the blue. Though, I still can't get the thought of what would gold stripes look like on Vista Blue? This is driving me crazy.

Tom, you are the man as I have been looking for a picture of a Blue Shelby GT350H Hertz all day yesterday, with no luck. That blue and gold does look different, BUT, I will be in heaven, if VB looks like that blue/white stripe GT350. Good looking out friend.

We're waiting! I can't understand why someone who just got a mustang hasn't stopped driving and admiring it to get on here and post some pictures

But seriously, get those pictures up ASAP!

I always appreciate any thanks but I got that pic right off this very site. So thank Brad for having every pic of Mustangs known to man. I agree that vista looks sooo close to guardsman that its alarming.
