First off, thanks to everyone on here for all of the help in my previous tire threads. I finally decided on a set of BFG g-Force Sport Comp 2's in size 255/45/18 to replace my Goodyear Eagle GT's in the stock 235/50/18 size. I really liked the Eagle GT's, but I wanted a wider tire and living in San Diego, I had no need for an all-season tire. I've only had the BFG's on for a couple days now, but I can already tell they're a nice upgrade. The front end feels much more planted and precise going into corners and there's more grip as well. I wouldn't say it's a massive night and day difference, but the car feels a little more alive with the BFG's now. I really like that the BFG's are made in the USA.

I also had new zinc coated brake rotors from Rotorpros installed very recently as well. They look so much better than the rusty cast iron rotors that come stock with the car. Braking performance seems to be a little bit better as well with the zinc coated rotors. Again, not a huge difference, but noticeable enough for sure. Here are some pictures I took this morning after I cleaned the car all up.

Very nice! Should be a fine tire for your needs. My new BFG G-Force A/S SS on my T/A just completed a 2,000 miles trip to the FL Keys last week. Not bad at all. I imagine your BFG summer tire really 'sticks'. Excellent tread design too.

It does seem like a pretty sticky tire. I did notice my car is pulling to the left ever so slightly, but I'm heading back to the tire shop tomorrow to have them straighten it out.

I have these on my Focus and absolutely love them. They will go on the Mustang once the stock tires are worn. I love their wet performance, especially hydroplaning resistance.

Man I wish more people would have bought the 285/40R18 KDW when its was around so that BFG would have had a reason to transition that size into the Sport Comp II.

Those are fantastic tires. They won't be on there for 75k miles or anything, I think I've got 30 or so on mine, but they have wonderful grip, they're quiet, and I love the tread pattern.

I only put about 5-6K miles per year on the car, so I'm fine if they last 30K miles. If the Bullitt wheels were bigger than 8.5 inches, I definitely would have went with a bigger size in the rear. Ideally a 285 or 295.

Agree, the Sport comp 2 is a terrific, sticky tire. Put a set on my Mini this past summer and loved them. I'm switched over to Firestone Winterforce now, and they feel so squishy in comparison. :-) As a bonus, BFG had a $50 rebate when I bought mine. Love them!

Thanks guys, I'm definitely enjoying them so far. Is it normal to need an alignment after putting different size tires compared to stock on a car? After I had the BFG's put on, my car is pulling to the left a bit. I went back to the shop and they did a half rotation and adjusted the air in the tires, but it's still pulling. Just want to know if this is normal? Probably going to have the car aligned on Monday, but sucks that I'll have to shell out more cash for something I didn't know I was going to need.

You should have gotten an alignment after putting on all new 4 tires on. Definitely get one.

I will be doing so on Monday. Other people have told me that changing to the wider tires shouldn't make a difference as far as the alignment goes, but clearly something is off.

I've actually never heard of needing an alignment after tires unless the previous ones had unusual wear.

I regularly switch between tire sizes on my Focus (winter/summer) with no ill effects. It hasn't needed an alignment since I bought it (3 years ago).

Pretty solid tire. The grip is awesome when new but after a couple thousand miles they drop a bit. Still very good though. They also last awhile. Tread wear is slow. My biggest and really only issue is that they are very, very loud.

How many miles on them?

Mine quieted down quite a bit after 5 thousand miles or so...granted they are also a bit narrower then what you probably have.

I agree. You should have seen an unusual wear pattern or cupping on the old tires if the alignment was off. Can you remember if there was or not? The tire shop should have noticed or said something too if that was evident. You don't want to ruin a new set of tires with a bad alignment. Smart to take it in.

All of the tires looked normal to me and the tire shop didn't say anything about them either time I brought them in.
