New SVT GT500 Photos, the yellow one!

Just spoke to SVT today, and the guy mentioned what we should all pretty much know anyways. This vehicle is simply one of their many test vehicles designed to test a few things. One model may from suspension, one for powertrain etc.. I asked specifically if they had settled on anyhting about the SHELBY letters. He said its pretty much a guarantee that it will be on the car, but unsure as to what shape or form. The only colors confirmed for now he said, are Red, White Black!

the front splitter is there.... also notice the gt bumper... The same one that was on the red cobra vert. If they produce it on the same line as the gt the trunk and bumper would be easier... They used v-6 bumpers on the old cobras... Although this could be one of the earlier versions... I really like the yellow and silver.

Late to the party. I was outta town this weekend.
That hood looks exactly like the one on the press kit video. It shows Shelby touring the SVT facility and he runs his hand over a silver hood on a clay model. It looks just like that one.
I like it better than the others we have seen aside from the concept. I'm sure they wouldn't leave the stripes like that. The rear end is probably like that because it is a test mule and they didn't want to hassle with making another GT500 rear end for it.

Has there been more than one GT500 produced that was exactly the same in every way? I get the feeling that SVT is trying out a whole bunch of [mostly] cosmetic changes to see how they are received by enthusiasts. You know they have to be watching the various forums to gauge people's reaction. It's free market research.
I'm not going to get my panties in a twist about any of it, I'll just see what the final production version looks like.

The more I look at it, the more I like it. If they fix the stripes or delete them, I think this hood would make the car look aggressive. I think the hood itself looks pretty sweet the way it bulges up in the middle then has the two raised vents.

I can't see those scoops making production. They're not even scoops...more like Lennox air conditioning vents!
And about the Shelby letters and badging. I can't imagine all the hoopla of rolling out a Shelby and then taking off EVERY piece of badging that identifies it as a Shelby. Do that, and it's not a Shelby anymore.
Something tells me we're worked up about nothing looking at these pictures. Nice shots, though, by the way. Though I'm not sure yellow quite works on this car.

Hood :notnice:
Stripes :notnice:
Ducktail :notnice:
I guess on the bright side. If build this version, I won't have any regrets not owning one.
Maybe somebody else already mentioned it, but did anyone notice that the lower rear is not blacked out like the original concept?

I never pictured it, but Silver contrasts with Yellow SURPRISINGLY well!

I'm not feeling the bat-a-rang under the front fascia. I hope everyone is right in this being a lame test mule. I also noticed that the foglight recess isn't smooth like the red concept. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for the leather covered dash, but I'm sure it won't make it.
As for the eyes behing the grille, I don't think those are eyes, but rather some form of bracket(s) that just happen to look like menacing eyes.

I'm not sure where I read it - maybe here...maybe Brad said this - but I think the leather may make it, because I read they were going to make it available as an upgrade package on GTs in two or three years.

I think the stripes look ok if they are done like this
just a quicky to get the idea

Was also at the show, here's a link to a few I took. SVT guy "Nick" stated that this is only one of many that will be coming out before production, trying to get more info from the public. His expertise was on motor & drivetrain. Backed out from opening the hood because he new they would be posted within the hour. Started it up & sounded good but he said that they needed to work out the exhaust. The "bad" stickers were added at the last minute just for show. They even put patches on the hood because the wiper sprayers have been moved down about six inches from the stock GT. I think it was worth seeing in person.

Boy SVT Really Cheesed this one up. The original release Car was Awesome. This Hood, going to 18's (When the GT will have 18's), Interior...Man!!!
I agree there should be a Cobra and a GT 500 with all the SHELBY badges, after all it is a Shelby Cobra GT500, not Ford Cobra GT500.
If they are going to have two cars, then the Cobra, even though the front will look alike, needs to be a Totally different car. Just like the V6 to GT to GT500.
Another thing to think of is Coming up with a New Boss 302. Ford still has 5.0 in the inventory and races the Cammer 5.0, that could be a good option for the Boss 302. Then Ford Mustang would have 4 Engine options, hmmmmm sounds like something they did years ago, offer more than 2 engine options.
