I'm correcting myself...he never had it to begin with...if it wasnt for Foose no one would have ever heard of Boyd, but if it wasnt for Boyd we might have never heard of Foose....chicken vs. egg thing again.

No news on the Big Red Button yet???
The red button is without a doubt an emergency stop system. All test cars have them these days. As long as the computers and programming are still under testing and evaluation, you need that button in case the program hangs or crashes.

Believe me, you will not see it on Cobras sold to the public.

Horrible. I've been in love with the red w/ white stripes concept from the moment I saw the first pics, but this car brought all my hopes crashing down. It's really awful. The hood bites, the stripes have gaps all over the place that ruin the look (just have a look at the rear photo, the stripes stop short at the spoiler, stop light, trunk lip and don't even extend all the way down the bottom of the fascia). And that rear spoiler, it looks like it's floating 1/2" off the car! No more two tone interior either. I hope they see the (many) errors of their ways and dump this tragedy in favor of the earlier proto.

I agree, whats next not giving us the engine they said they would, the stripes look like somthing one would do if they were going with a cheap vynll job....if they keep on going down this road then Shelby will be lucky if they take his name off of it.

The lack of two tone seats is the first thing that caught my eye. It looks like a GT interior with cobra emblems everywhere. Definitely not worthy

I thought I was gonna be the first to ask... it looks the emergency stop button on some sort of hydralic press...
Yea it was an emergency stop button, there was also a big sticker indicating that the air bags in the vehicle were non-functional, so obviously indicating its a pure test vehicle.

Ok, am I the only person not getting upset about this PRE-PRO-DUC-TION vehicle? Yes, the hood is awefull. But Brad just chimed in saying it's only one of several in consideration. And the stripes don't look great, but I don't think they're too worried about lining them up perfectly on a test vehicle. They're probably there more to get public reaction to color combos of the car and stripes. I'm willing to bet my home that the real car will have stipes done the right way. And maybe the interior items and outside badging are again lesser concerns for the test vehicles. Maybe they already have final badging designs done and maybe they are either still kicking around a few interior ideas or it could be that they have other multi-colored interiors on other vehicles.

I just think people are jumping the gun a little bit. I won't make a final decision until we see the final thing at the Detroit show. Oh, and at least this car has the front splitter on the bumper. I saw those other pics w/o it and it look really bad.

i don mind the hood, but the stripes are fugly...jeez at least do black stripes on a yellow car, not whatever semi-neon puke color those are...

f'in sweet car in all tho...i mean, id take it right now if it was for sale...put a mortgage on the house and all to get one of the VERY first, nonproduction gt500s (probly worth 60k in a couple years)

Yeah it was my hope too that somebody important would read the bad reaction a car like that got. It's just a let down

Ford has a real problem if they have to rely on our opinions to figure out what good taste is. All they have to do is compare. The concept was fine in all respects specially its hood which gave the car an aggressive yet clean look.

Well its getting more production like with the grill being more finalized, with parts being blocked out like on the V6/GT for flow control.

I love that front end on my GT, but looks like expensive change....
light assemblys, bumper, hood... thinkin it would look awsome with that hatch pattern on the GT, with the current setup of fogs/pony....

Ducktail is now more production like...the 3rd brakelight has been moved from the spoiler and to the trunk, like the other cars...

And the lack of Shelby on the car, makes me wonder are they still toying with the name? is it a shelby? or is it just an SVT Cobra GT500?

Mine will say SHELBY regardless of whether the production does or not.

must say, I don't quite understand the hood but that stripe job has to be one of the worst I have seen. Look at where the stripes on the front bumper meet the grille
Yea they didn't do a very good job, perhaps rushed it just to have something before taking the car on the road for shows. Its a vinyl stripe job too unlike the red one, which at least from the photos and how it inlays in the rear plate cutout appears to be paint.

Am I the only one that noticed the shape of the splitter being different from the concept?

Nope, it is different...
Its not one size now...its larger towards the sides, and has a 'cut' towards the middle.

Whatever happened to the preproduction version being 90% "what will be produced" They have seemed to changed alot more than 10% so far.
