I might be able to live with the hood, but those stripes are *^$#(!@*^$# Horrible. Its also missing the gas cap, and Shelby Letters. This falls in line with what the SVT rep said at Carlisle. They had like 4-5 different hoods, and were still experimenting with stripes. Lets hope this goes to the crapper.

UUGGGHHH!!!! I do not like these changes! I mean why did they put the pony logo on the back as opposed to the cobra one!? And who the heck designed that hood? I mean it doesn't look terrible but it's not nearly as good as the concept. And who the heck puts silver stripes on a yellow car? Man I hope the production version doesn't look like this.
Thanks for the pics though Dan.

Here are some important things to note:
- Please don't make any decisions based on this hood. There are still 3-4 hood designs being evaluation; this is the third one I've seen. The other two are the one from the concept and one just like the concept's but without the extractors. This one is my least favorite.
- rrobello mentioned that the faux fuel door medallion shows a tribar instead of the Shelby Cobra GT500 emblem that was on the concept. I don't think the medallion design for the GT500 has been finalized, and I don't think Shelby's name will appear on this car at all. Look at the steering wheel medallion; it just shows a snake instead of saying Shelby GT500 like the concept. The other pre-production GT500 I saw also had the same steering wheel badge.

Uhhhh....I actually likethe hood! I certainly like the concept better, but try to picture it without the stripes put on by a crackhead. I think the terrible striping job is throwing people off. But I'm still concerned about the lack of the front and rear splitters, and the BLACK MiRRORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Post/Pic #5 looks pretty bad-hiney.............imagine it in Black or Tungsten without the stripes

IF that was the production one, get rid of the hood and stripes and replace the faux gas tank cap for $23$ through kev and wallaaa, you have yourself, at least exterior wise, a pretty darn close replica of the concept!!!

wierd the really cool thing was the Shelby name, if they take that off will they still callit a Shelby GT 500? I dont think they should, just make it SVT Cobra, I am torn...on one hand it would stink that it isnt a Shelby but on the other hand it allows him to make a real GT 500 and make it a true vette killer and race car, done right for a limited market, but that would only be if he did that, otherwise it would just Stink loosing the chance at one last Shelby car. Heck I know some many people that have been talking to me about my car that say they are waiting for the "Shelby" to buy one because it is a Shelby, they dont know its made by SVT when I tell them, they say SVT is gone. Ford would be losing a huge marketing gimick there.
SIDE THOUGHT: If they can the Shelby idea I can then go ahead with my original idea of turning the 05 into a modern interpretation of the Shelby GT500 w/o anyone thinking I coppied the Cobra. Thats a bonus.
Is there somewhere we can send our input and make this car come out right???
