BTW - Why in the world would Ford ever explain it away? Anything to keep the chatter up is always a good thing.

im just really thinking its an engine test mule, i mean the exhaust tips are flat ended signaling either exhaust or new system, i said before and im gonna stick to it, i think ford is going to shock us with somthing to make the competition non-existant, stand their ground and prove they are the only ones to never stop making the nations favorite car, apple pies and mustangs are things america is known for, and that cant change, ford cant let that happen

Ford can't let that happen? People, wake up. Gas is over 3 bucks a gallon and climbing. People are already abandoning their gas guzzlers and moving to more fuel-efficient transport. Ford is drowning in a sea of disinterest in their products. They are running severely in the red, and if they don't wake up and smell the oil they will be bankrupt faster than you can say "Smart Car". The last thing they need to do is dream up some new performance engine for the Mustang. Sure, all of us Mustang owners would love to see that, but the reality is that we are but a tiny minority of the buying public. If they don't give John Q. Average what he is looking for, they won't be around to make Mustangs for us much longer.

Last time I checked, the Mustang was doing some serious volume compared to other autos in the industry. Sure if they could make a Camry/Accord fighter, doing similiar volume, it would definately help. The high gas prices don't seem to be slowing Mustang sales down. It took me 8 months to get mine in. The demand is still there for this type of segement. In the sport car market, Ford is killing the competition.

what im saying is ford knows that the mustang is a KEY part of their future, as in, they know if they got rid of the mustang people wouldent know what to think more-less nothing to bring people into dealerships, i wonder how many people go in looking for a mustang and walk out with a fusion or somthing, or go in looking for an f150 and walk out with mustang keys...i bet it happens a lot

i agree, with the exhaust looking kinda fishy, someone that knows their S197s should compare the stance to see something that maybe we might be missing.
