I would at first think it's just an engine mule, but why put tape over the faux gas cap then...?

Dem Ford folks are a strange bunch...

I'm just messing with you Edson, but seriously it looks like all the other torch red pictures I've seen on here. Maybe those popular mechanics guys don't pay too much attention to mustang colors like we do.

This has to be the Bullit, otherwise, why would it have a blank grill and Bullitt rims.

and on the gas cap, maybe its because the Bullitt will have a special cap

Definitely not the Bullitt. Several people in the know have said it's not. Plus, that's stock height. The Bullitt will have the FRPP handling pack. And that definitely is Torch Red.

Most mules are made that way for that reason to throw people off. I would guess it is a bullitt mule. Also if it was not a big deal car Ford would have proably resoponed to questions of what the car is rather than the "no comment" thing.

Since it's reported (here) that there is nothing on the 08 Bullitt that hasn't already been used on other production cars (except grill) there is no reason for a mule of any sort. It's all been tested before.

Maybe they're testing a new filler neck.

It didn't work, so they had to haul it back to the shop.

Based on that pic, I'm part of the "so what?" crowd. I'll keep my GT, thanks!

It's an electric stang prototype. That's the power port for the extension cord.

BTW - Why in the world would Ford ever explain it away? Anything to keep the chatter up is always a good thing.
