Don't know about you but I don't write posts here thinking about them being picked up anywhere else. If the owners are all finding a strange grinding noise when breaking, I want to know about it. Forget some other web site wailing about how terrible the car is because of the thread.

Yeah, it's amazing what some people will put up with all for the sake of blind devotion to a "name," isn't it?
Theyre called Mercedes owners.

As for whine, all tremec 3650s whine, especially coasting down in 2nd and 1st. Its the nature of the tranny. You may hear a little clutch chatter in 1st too, its no big deal, wrx's and M3's do it too. Auto-down power windows that retract to open and close the doors DO get out of whack sometimes. Some new t-birds do it too, you usually have to roll the windows down exactly together, hold for 3 sec, roll them up together, hold up for 3 sec. Im not sure if the muzzy callibrates the same way.

I get that a lot from MB owners too, it was a great car, except the cupholder broke and i had to hit it with my elbow for 2 weeks waiting for a new one that would go down, oh, and my headlight fogged and condensation shorted out the navigation unit, oh and the left power headrest goes all the way up when I closed the trunk, and the key broke off...........etc

There's a reason these cars come with a warranty...it's to fix these issues.

This is a mass produced item, boys and girls. A lot of the work is done by machines, and people that see hundreds of cars a day. Mistakes will be made, things will be misaligned.

Don't get too bent out of shape about the little stuff. Sure, if you need your tranny replaced three times in the first month, female dog away! But these little issues generally get solved, and then they're gone and you're just left with a great car!

Make sure if your car starts getting near the end of the warranty period, and if it *still* has a lot of issues, that you demand the dealer extend the warranty for 5-10K miles. Most dealers will do that without carping too much.

Yeah, everybody knows Mercedes ain't what they used to be. Bimmer owners have similar complaints, too, though to a less extent.

I'm saying there are ways to minimize the risks no matter what brand you choose - an extended warranty is one way...not buying the first model year of an as-yet unproven vehicle is another.

I think Lexus is really the only automaker with very, very few problems or complaints...way ahead of Mercedes now in overall quality, IMO.

It's a bead of sealant/gasket maker, not weld.....does look like it though. I have a cut in the rubber air inlet(Right at the throttle body) Other than that....no faults that I can find. B)
bullittman, do you think that the sealant is at a seam, spanning a cut in the firewall, or is it just gooped on at that spot ? I saw the same thing on another picture out here, it could be fairly standard. [/b][/quote]
There is a "Double wall" panel there that the bead goes around, whether for strengh or something else is not clear. The sealant may be to insure no moisture/corrosion at the joint.

Uh boy...here we go again.

Last time I checked, the US had a TWO party system.

Yup, dual citizenship. You think sorting out issues and candidates for ONE country is tough - try juggling TWO countries, which, lemmie think, means sifting through a total of about five to seven political parties!

Yeah, let's stick to whining, cussing and arguing about cars.

its a new model of the mustang and i definitely want and am goin to be a part of it. its gonna be the 1st car i own and i chose from a few cars but this one stood out like no other. every car has bugs. like the BMW's i was parking one at work and it was making these funny sounds i thought i did something but it wasnt me. mercedes i dont even wanna talk about. and lets not get started to Japanese crap. people make it like those things r perfect when in reality its a giant tin can with better gas milage than a bike
