I've thrown a few posts on here over the past week but I've only just recently joined - and I've found a home for my mania!!!

I've been driving an ESCORT for the past four years but before that, had a Red '88 GT that I really enjoyed. Always been a Mustang fan - and recently have the means to acquire a new '05 GT. Its been a LONG time since I have been fired up about car related stuff but over the past few months, I have become insane about this car - and after discovering this site, I feel right at home now.

My desire for pics and info knows no bounds!! And thanks to Brad for such an AMAZING site.

So - my point for this post:

We've seen the great pics of Cyoda's Gt with the spolier delete - awesome stuff. I will be ordering my BLACK GT this sunday (ordering since this one time, I have the $$ to be able to get EXACTLY what I want, and not settle for a model the dealer happens to get in). Those recent pics of all those Ponies in a line are really cool - but where the heck are the Black ones?!?! The 'Dark Horses'?....

I want more pics of some BLACK GTs with the standard 'Bullitt' type wheels! B)
Anybody have any?......

My shopping list :
GT Deluxe
BLACK clearcoat
Dark Charcoal interior
Automatic
Interior Upgrade
Active Anitheft
Locking Lugnuts
SHAKER 1000

[and I have an itch that I'm sure only some 18 inch tires and wheels will scratch come the start of '05.... anybody know if the tires on the silver GT with the white stripes from the car showmonths back were 18s? Cause they look sweet....]

Good luck on your purchase.

May I ask why you choose Deluxe rather than Premium?

Selecting the PREMIUM automatically gets you leather seats, correct?

(If I'm wrong, please let me know!)

I'm sticking with the cloth seats - don't need the leather in South Florida weather!!

I believe the rims you are asking about were 18" aluminum. Now in 06 that exact style will be available in a chrome finish. As for the size of the grey GT with stripes, I am not 100% that they were 18" but it is my guess that they were. FoMoCo did have some prototypes with 20" rims. So potentially those could have been 20" rims.

I believe you are correct in the cloth seat area. Good choice since you live in Florida.

I got the deluxe too, but added the leather. I didn't want the Shaker system...just the standard radio.

I have a new Alpine CDA-9835 to go in there instead. :headbang:

You should really consider a manual, while it's harder to learn it's adds a whole new dimension to the car.

I drive a manual everyday, often in heavy traffic and I wouldn't dream of going back to an automatic. The control you have over the car is amazing

It's worth a test drive atleast....

My '88 GT was a manual - and after a while, with where I drive, I kinda got tired of it.

PLUS the fact that I have an old lower bad injury - and besides having to SIT all day at work, compounding that with the constant leg extension to work the clutch, that will eventually do a number on me that I would rather avoid. I definitely know about the greater control though from driving my old one.

Thanks for the advice though - I appreciate it!

Umm...not meaning to be smug or anything, but don't back injuries require workout to heal? People I know of (with non-paralyzing injuries) exercise and walk a LOT to keep their back going. Maybe a shifter would do you good (except for the non-symmetric load part)?

I have a similar car on order, with the exception of the Shaker 1000 and the Interior upgrade package. It is scheduled to be delivered next Saturday. There are some good pics in the following link from this site.

Yeah I hear ya - and I go to my chiropractor regularly for a 'tuneup' every four weeks or so.

I do exercise but know from experience over the years (and four years of Kenpo karate and doin different kind of kicks) that the non-symmetrical load part is exactly what will screw me up. Truthfully, its been a LONG time since I have had a serious reoccurence (when things kind of 'pop out' of alignment) and driving the stick most likely wouldn't be that bad - until something happens - and then my MAIN form of transportation will do nothing but aggravate the injury and I'll be ^@&#@%$%@. (which happened back with my '88...)

As I have found out (sadly), each body and back injury is different.

lodom - Ahhhh a 'Dark Horse' kindred spirit!! Thanks for the link - haven't seen these pics yet. I sure hope your car comes in on time! When you get it, get some pics up on here!
