Well I believe Silver still is the LEADING car color in terms of sales of most cars so I would imagine they would keep it in the line up......

Who knows. Maybe Vapor Silver will replace Windveil Blue. Last year some folks thought that alloy grey would replace tungsten

I was curious what the difference between Satin Silver and Metallic Silver would be. Metallic Silver (YN) has been on a lot of Fords including F-150s, Escapes, Explorers, and Mustangs.

Apparently 2003 Mustangs started the year with Satin Silver (99-02, 05-07 mustang color) and then they switched to Silver Metallic (03-04 mustang color).

Here's a couple of quotes comparing the 2.
I have the silver metallic. Up close you can see the difference. From far away it looks the same.
yeah, the metalic has more metal flake in it, but its barely noticable from 10 feet
Sounds like it will be very similiar to Satin Silver from a distance.

My Lightning is YN Silver Metallic. Pain in the *** to match the paint. Ford played around with the paint mix for the '04 Lightnings, stating it was an ALL NEW Silver Metallic as a specialty item for the last year they were going to make the L's. Just made it a little lighter, little closer to Frost but all the paint shops have the same old YN paint mixing codes, so every time I try and get a part painted for it, it looks darker than what's on the '04 stock.

Anyway... Silver Metallic has some Metallic in it, looks good on a truck. I've never really like the Satin Silver, just too plain and mellow looking. Not to mention Silver is the most popular color out there today. One of my neighbors just bought an '06 silver Accord, and the other an '06 Silver Altima, and go to any parking lot and look around, Silver EVERY WHERE!

Too bad, I like Silver.

why not put out some more interesting colors instead of slight varaitions on current colors. Id love to see them bring back somthin like a 'true blue' that has some metallic in it, or maybe more colors that have different hues to them.

Hey Mike, long time no talk. How's it going. No, no word on any new Yellow hue coming out. I don't think you'll see another yellow for a few more years. I think Ford likes to keep the color away for a few, to generate interest in bringing back. Too bad they don't listen for us fans of DHG (Dark Highland Green).

BTW, I think I should be down at your club's show on September 3rd. I have a few fellow 05+ owners from BMC who may join me. Just have to check calenders and such.

Please, no more color shifting hues. I had a Caspian Blue '65 Fastback for 16 years so of course I wanted my '05 to be blue, but when I saw one in person, I changed my order. I wanted blue, not purple.

More variations of silver, give us green! We already have enough silver variations. Seriously i wish they would just give us all the colors instead of spreading them out over the years, making us trade in our cars so we can get that certain color, but i suppose thats the idea.

I just got back from Detroit and the Woodward Dream Cruise. All of the informal talk I heard from various Mustang engineers suggest Tungsten Grey will not be available in 2008. Get 'em while they still make 'em!

We need BRIGHT Colors-

Oranges, Bright Blues(grabber) Yellows(but not screaming), Reds NOT made for family cars, Greens- the good kind. And perhaps some metallic colors as well.

And Retire Tungsten so I can have two retired color mustangs.

Can you find this color on a 2007 Ford vehicles color chart? Redfire is currently "my" (her) favorite color. Too many other projects and priorities, prevent ordering an 07. Was to order the last year for this bodystyle in Redfire or a SE since I've been compelled to wait.

actually Satin Silver (TL) started on stangs in 02 and partially thru 03 (Like you mentioned)

Metallic Silver (YN) was on stangs from 99-01, then stated again in 03-04
