neighbors son works at Flat rock
My neighbors Just got back from michigan helping his son move into a new house. His son works at the Flat Rock plant and said that he would follow my car down the line when it gets built, all he needs is for me to give the vin number. I think that is a cool thing for him to do.I would like to know if cameras are allowed in the plant before I ask him to take pics of my car being built. ANYBODY KNOW???????
I'm going with a big fat NO on that question. I highly doubt Ford will let you take pictures while in the plant.
At the Ford Rouge Factory tour there were no cameras allowed in the plant where the F 150's are being built.
Keep in mind.. it's still a working environment. Would you like people taking pics while you're trying to work
He could run the risk of losing his job if he does it.
There are also no camera allowed in other Ford building. I got to hang out with my dad at work (he's a designer at Ford) in one of the product developement building he was stationed at. Very cool stuff there.. but for sure.. noooooooo cameras at all.
Not sure if he's be able to follow your car during the whole production. Depends on what his job is and what time they build it.

Amy, I can verify the camera statement.
When I was at two auto plants here for job interviews, both times it was stated that cameras were strictly prohibited. Some places actually check your cellphone prior to entering for a camera in that as well.

Can't you have your neighbors ask their son to see if cameras are allowed? I would think he would know since he is working there. Might be worth a shot!

But in the field, some of my pics would be cool (not many people will go there to take my picture).

i don't think anyone would want to take my pic either. architects are work are boring.
Me as an accountant working, Paint drying.......If I wasn't working, the gloss paint would win hands down.......
It'll be really good to know that there is someone watching over your car as it is being made, you know that no short cuts are being taken. Cool

I belive that if you are caught with a camera in the plant, it is grounds for immediate firing. Someone at a Chrysler plant got fired for this about a year ago. He was going around on many of the internet car forums begging for support & help to no avail.

That would be a pretty boring shot...Me at a computer. At least when I am in the office.

well you've got to document the project and the site. probably the only projects you couldn't take a camera into would be government work and the like.
besides, buildings are amazing to look at as there coming together. even stick frame houses look nice. until they start finishing them out typically. lol.\

[/b][/quote]You'd be surprised. I have some progression pictures of two different federal courthouses. It is amazing what the judges get in their chambers.
Maybe I shouldn't have said that out loud. :cop:
But overall you are right, cameras can't go everywhere.
