RTRO GT will look great! Thanks for all the ideas, I think I know what I'll get for mine, but I'm not gonna say it until I lock it in!

Ok I know that vanity plates have been discussed a lot on here before but I need your guys' oppinion, I want my plates to include the "2005" aspect of the car on them but can only fit one number in front of the rest of what I want it to say and still have the rest make sense, so my question is: Is 5------ enough to make sense that I mean 2005, I cant fit 05?

Here is what I would like it to say in its entirity (was just trying to keep the first part simple, but this might help make your decision).

I would like it to say 5FLSHBK and have people know I mean 2005 FlashBack, flashback obviously being a play on words between it being a retro car and also being a fastback, but is a single 5 enough to get the date across, or should I get it and paint on an appostophe in front of the 5 like '5FLSHBK? I know the latter is illegal but I dont know if the cops around here would be a pain about it or not. Or should I just go with FLSHBAK and can the date? My concerns with that is that without the date I think the play on it being a fastback would be lost on most people. I know way too much thought is going into this but I am on my way to order the plates and just want your oppinions on this before I go.

Also is RETROGT already taken in California?

Thanks.
I have STNG 05 on mine and people still ask me what it means. They don't get Stang 05...I like the FLSHBK idea.....

I had a '69 hurst olds. My plates were WILD HO
After recieving the plates i noticed what they really meant. "HO"
ouch. I went to a sticker place and put a blue dot after the H AND O.
Drove for 4 years without the cops bugging me about it, and i was stopped for speeding a few times.

That's too funny. But the cops out here (SoCal) aren't too nice, they seem to not have anything to do but find stupid ways to harrass people who aren't doing anything incredibly detrimental to anyone, you can forget about calling them when you actually need their help they are probably busy confiscating some kids skateboard which is more important than stopping the guy from robbing the liquor store behind them across the street.

SIDE STORY: My friend called 911 not too long ago because his dad was beating the living daylights out of him, the cops contacted him back on the phone and told him to just leave the house and asked if he had somewhere he could go because they were busy and couldnt get to him right away. The following day they still hadnt contacted him and so he called the sheriff's station and asked if they were ever going to come out and file a report and they said they were sending someone over as soon as possible, this was around 11 am and the cop finally showed up around 6 pm to take a report and then talked him out of filing charges because it "would require a lot of time on his [my friend's] part in having to go to court and all and the DA would probably not prosecute anyway because it was a simple domestic disturbance." I think it was because the cop didnt want to bother with the paperwork and would rather get back out there on the street to pull me over and write me a ticket for having black out headlights, so he could fill his quota.

And CHP forget about it they would give a ticket to their grandmother just for kicks. But thanks for the imput on the cops in your neck of the woods, it seems as if they have their priorities straight, something that lame should be allowed. And sorry about the major side track.
