Need quick help with tires!!! 07 lowered GT
I just bought a set of halibrands 18X9, My car is lowered with the FRPP springs. I can get a steal price on tires online. Im thinking to go with
265X40 Front
285X45 Rear
WIll 45 on rear will it rub?
Some one help out before I make the purchase.

What are your wheels offset? I had a DD 18x10(45MM offset) with 295/45 on the rear.Car is lowered and the tires never rubbed. It was a wider rim with a very large tire, much larger than your after, you should be OK.Your rims offset should be around 40-45MM offset.

265/40R18s only really work with 295/35R18s (both are 26.3" tall, but you need at least a 18x10 wheels to work with the 295's).
Crap, disregard the 285's, they take a minimum of a 18x9.5, your really better off using a 275/40R18 all the way around if you can fit the tire, a 265/40R18 (26.3) is fully 1 inch shorter than the factory fitment (27.3"), where a 275/40R18 is 26.7" or a 255/45R18 is 27.0"
If your hell bent on using 265's try and get some 18x10's for the rear (if they'll fit) and go with the 295's
Also welcome to understeer city (might be able to tune some of that out by adjusting your front bar if your using the FRPP handling pack, its got three adjustment holes in the front bar).

Yurka, don't worry about the understeer issue to much unless you have a road coarse(twisties) on the way to work.I did however have to install some different rear shocks(Steeda non-adjustables) due to a bouce with the larger rear tires. It did firm it up and eliminate the bouce but not the rake. You will like that rake without that famous stock gap.I think your choice on the 285's is +1.Here is a pic of my GT with the 295's...and 255/45's(18") up front.

The understeer got me worried a llitle, those twisties are sometimes fun with the RWD.
Alright I this monday im going out to buy, 275/40 front, 285/45 rear.
Thanks for your opinions guys.

On the street, I am running 265-40-18 front and 185-35-18 on the rear with 18 X 9.5 Steeda Pentar wheels and no problems. No rubbing at all.
On the track I am running Hoosier 275-35-18 on all four corners and no problem there either.
