I recall a post that said after you break in your car disconnect the battery, this resets something that gives you a chance to reprogram it with your "foot" for more aggressive shifting. You might want to do the same thing before winter for more conservative driving.

Traction control OFF!

I'm not a racer; this is just what I picked up along the Mustang Source with the winter thing being my guess.

The auto trans has a sort of learning memory, the more aggressively it is driven the better it will shift (hard and fast). if you putt around it will learn your driving habbits and shift accordingly (slow and easy). By disconnecting the negative terminal for a few minutes it wipes out the memory and shifts like it was new again, but if you do this remember to let it idle for 5 minutes after the first time it's restarted so the computer can become adjusted and learn and set itself up. I've found the best way to make it work is give it just one good run everytime you drive it (blow the snot out of it), and it will remember. I believe a good run is the best way to keep it in line until a fix is found.

As far as racing it from a start try applying the brake and the gas until the rpm's are about 1800-2000 and let it fly. At this point put the pedal slowly to the floor and hold it there and it will run like a bat out of heck so hold on.

I think the button itself is labelled "TC" which I suppose I could see how someone would miss it. I couldn't find an image close enough to the button to read it.

I started a thread in the GT Tech & Performance section earlier today on this subject. There is some very interesting info there now, along with an article that you all should read regarding manually shifting the auto tranny. Here is the link... http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...pic=18663&st=20

Edit: Sorry, I linked it to page 2, but that shows a quote from the internet article that basically sums it all up. There's some more intersting info on page 1 of the thread though.
