It's not a matter of holding its value, its a matter of supply and demand! I would ask MSRP minus (One) 1$ per mile driven until sold and that is how I would advertise it!!! Kind of like a reverse-auction...as the price goes down, someone will pull the trigger It's hard enough finding a NEW GT let alone a used one that hasn't been damaged!!!

BTW- I had a similar situation happen to me: Long story short:

Bought 2003 Dodge Durango new from dealer.
2900 miles later decided I needed a pickup.
Went back to dealer and explained the Durango couldn't handle the towing comfortably-I need a Ram Pickup w/ bigger than a 4.7v8
Paid $19,850 plus Tax/tag for the durango new
Trade $ 19,000
new Hemi-Ram cost $7500.00 under MSRP plus tax/tag
Me=Happy...didn't have to argue at all:there were NO 2003 durangos that had gone through the auction block yet at this time! Dealers aren't ALWAYS unreasonable.

Your in Chicagoland so how many sold on A and X plan for the factory workers, not as many Detroit I'm sure. I would second the earlier $25,000 comment. So you loose $2,200 plus all the sales tax. I would just enjoy it for a few years. Unless money does not matter here to have what you want, based on there will always be another Mustang SE to buy.

I think i want a 05 Saleen instead of my 05GT.

What do you guys/gals think i should ask for it?

- Chicagoland Market -

Car: 05 Mustang Gt Premium
Trans: Manual
Miles: 340
Color: Torch red
Interior: Aberdeen red leather
Options: Interior upgrade package, Interior color accent package, Active anti theft.

I paid MSRP $27,210

Should i just ask for best offer?

Thank you everyone.
WOW are you sure Will the Saleen have IUP??? IMO I think that if I was to wait it would be for the Shelby.

But, in the end I really don't think you will loose any money if you sell it on ebay use the IUP as a selling factor. [/b][/quote]
Except most people don't realize that you can't get iup or even what it is.

I am with Shea I personally wouldnt pay over 22-23. Reason being I can get one on the a plan. I would think you can get 25 out of it. You may find someone in a rush that cant wait that will give you 27.

Aside from various people who can get X Plans, dealers are still charging a $2K-$3K premium over MSRP on GTs in most areas IF you can even find one.

There's no reason you shouldn't be able to get most, if not all, of your money out of it assuming you bought it AT MSRP.
