I can not stand the hoods that have scoops on them. If they directly add more power then maybe, but the ones on sn95's make me nuts with the ricer scoops on them.
I agree, because they are so blatantly fake.

The mach1 shaker a very nice functinonal scoop, and even the 03-04 Cobra hoodscoops/air extractors are very nice.

I agree that the hood scoop should be functonal. I think I will just settle for a set of stripes and wheels and then hit the engine for mods. If a hood came out that had a different dimension such as steeda's then I might think about it but will wait to see what sema comes out with..

Just my opinion but I wouldn't want to see the same hood available for each version of the car.

For example, the Mach Shaker hood is a distinguishing characteristic and in my view, should only be available for the Mach.

Same thing for the Cobra - it should be unique.

Yeah, I know that the aftermarket dudes can make anything for anything but hey, I think that some specialty stuff like hoods should be for the uniqueness it offers. I wouldn't want to see a Mach Shaker on a Cobra or vice versa.

So, while the GT hood in its current iteration looks plain, I would rather see Ford (and the aftermarket boys) offer a special version for the GT that is unique and not another clone of other Mustangs.

Gotta love uniqueness! :worship: :worship:

I like the clean, uncluttered look of the hood. Fact is, it is much easer to add than take away.

For the people who want scoops, this car is a great blank canvas for putting on whatever scoop you want on it.

And once again, the hood looks much better in person, it does not have a flat appearance but has some nice dimension to it.
Well said steve.

And it is pretty cool in person. It has three gorgeous ridges in it. Plus, when you're driving you can see it easily. Almost looks like a slight cowl hood. Check out this pic:

I'm not a red fan But Redfire REALLY caught my attention. It looks exactly like the picture. A very rich vibrant red.. not an orange-red at all, like Torch Red.

Still worried about what you ordered Dan? :P Hahahaha.. I think you'll flip when you see it. VERY stunning.

Nah, just post-order jidders. Thanks amy, that's very reassuring! I really love this colour.

For those of you who like scoops and don't like the GT lamps, take them out, and duct them in to the air intake.

Like the old school drag racers did. Like Ford did with the extremely fast, extremely rare Thunderbolt. Take a look at the inner headlamps...

I loved the hood on the concept. I hope some aftermarket co. makes them if they are not available on my 07 cobra. If they don't come stock, I am definetely getting one. Don't really care if it is really functional or not, I love it cuz its cool! B)

I think the GT "needs something". I saw my first one today - a Black V6 - because I had seen so many pictures already - there were no surprises. The hood was one thing that I just stared at - it needs something. The plain Jane look is ok for the low end Mustangs but not for the GT in my opinion. Ford is for sure holding back. The know the new car will sell like it is (and they are right) the also know when they do start sticking "stuff" on the car - many will go "wow".

Since I am broke (my industry is in the tank) it will be a good while before I can get one - maybe by then the GT will look like a GT to me.

I am there on the fog lights - I would rather not have them - at least the way they look now. The car has a nice overall shape and that is cool. I have had 4 Vettes (and two Porches) - (back in my monied days) and have never even been in a Mustang.

I am trying to use a car as a carrot to get me making calls in a very bad economy (head hunter for the last 30 years - industrial sales). I made the head switch to Mustang when I found I liked the 05 even better than the prev body (which I also like) and that was not the case with the Vette. I like the C5 better than the C6. It is going to be hard enough for me to come up with 30k but more realistic than trying to come up with 55k - that helps

To all of you getting one now - best of luck - they are nice looking cars.

For now - I want some very nice pics of a white/red GT for my desktop pictures (remind me to get my butt working) lol.

Amy.... I'm being a bit pedantic, but don't use a cartoon of a Rattlesnake for a Cobra. ;-)

I like the clean look of the hood.

A scoop had better do something, if they are going to put it on this hood.

I also think the hood looks nice with its clean lines.

I think the shaker would look good if it was functional, and was on the supercharged 400 hp version!

would like to see a few more horsies than 300 though!

What I think would be cool is a supercharged 400 + hp version, in a completely stock looking body, with no gizmos on it.

I'd call it the "corvette grinder" :drive:
