This is my setup why am I getting Lean Conditon codes?
Ok I have a 2006 GT Vert, stock 4.6 engine with a Ford Racing CAI, stock cats and h mid pipe, SLP axle back pipes. It's an automatic with stock gears I think they're 3.31 and my tires are 235/50/18.
I'm using 93 octane fuel and after installing the CAI I get the lean condition code. Reprogrammed the ECU with Diablosport inTune, at first used the 93race tune then realized I should have used the custom 93R tune I got with the tuner from American Muscle/Bama Performance.
I haven't gotten the DTC code again but I may be talking too soon as it takes some time to show up. I check and rechecked the CAI for leaks and don't find any. What should I look at in the log files to see if I am running too lean?
Any help would be appreciated,
Alex

Cavero, the 93 Race tune is a canned tune that comes with the Diablosport, it's not one of the 3 free custom tunes that comes with the inTune you get from American Muscle.
I drove the GT tonight about 60 miles and the check engine light hasn't come back on but I also didn't mash the pedal. I wonder if this problem will worsen when I get a ram hood from ABC Exclusive.

I think I would invest is a Bama tune, they do great work.
antdog, I did get a Bama tuned Diablosport inTune from American Muscle with free lifetime tunes.
Cavero, I didn't check to see if the 93 Race tune was adjustable but I think it is. It wasn't one of the custom tunes from Bama, I found those under the heading Custom Tune.

do not know in New York if the weights and measures test for octane ratings. here in Tennessee they only check pumps for you are getting a gallon for a gallon. you pay for premium but it maybe regular, who knows? the distributor could also be cheating the gas station, or could be winter gas.

Dan thanks for the input, I haven't gotten the lean code again. Seems I put in the wrong tune the first time. The second tune I loaded which was under the heading Custom Tune worked great. I was hesitant to chose that one first because I thought it meant I could create a custom tune.
Everything is good now.

Car runs great now, had to remove the SLP Loudmouths and go back to the stock exhaust. The droning drove me crazy and after awhile gave me a headache. I liked the sound, the deep throaty rumble so when I can I'll looks for something like that minus the drone.
