Well....after searching fordirect.com and looking at the dealership inventories for every major city (multiple zip codes per city) in 6 states, I found ONE GT that fit the exact specs of what I want.

I sumbit my request for a quote directly through the website and I got a call about 2 hours later from a sales rep at the dealership. I ask about the price of the car (MSRP of $28,600) and he says that they are asking $35,000. I ask why they were asking for so much over MSRP and he said that they have some fancy 20" rims and performance tires on it. I told him that I didn't want to pay over MSRP and he said that "We aren't, but these rims and tires make the price of the car higher."

I then asked how much they would charge if they were to put the stock rims/tires back on to which he replied, "Oh, we can't take them off, we're selling them with the car."

Why the heck can't they then just swap those rims/tires onto another 2005 that they have on the lot???

Bah....back to searching inventories or keep looking for a place to make an order. :bang:

Brandon Ford in Tampa, Fla is listing one, only it's automatic with shaker 500.

Thanks for the tip. I could get by with the 500, but IUP and manual transmission are a must.

Sad that there is a large amount of these Dealers out there. If potential buyers would pass up and let those cars sit on the lots. I'll bet those fuggy over priced (at any cost) wheels and other add-ons would come off real quick.

Brandon Ford is charging a "Premium" on their Stangs also. You can find better deals elsewhere...they advertise on the radio stations how no "reasonable deal" will be refused. Reasonable to them on the Mustangs is not MSRP it is 2500 over for coupes to "sky's the limit" on convertibles.

Good luck in your search.
