I ordered a V6 on March 15. I was assured many times that I would be receiving the car (early June arrival). Today I'm told unless I switch to auto transmission my order will be cancelled. I don't care for automatics, so I declined. Apparently Ford has ran out of standard transmissions for the '05. I'm not sure what my options are. I haven't given up yet. The dealer has done numerious nationwide seaches and there's never been anything with the options I'm looking for available on lots.
The dealer been great, but I'm very disappointed in Ford. If they knew there was a problem with the supply of standard transmissions, why didn't they notify me sooner...while I still had time for other options. Very poor customer service. Probably shouldn't have order my modifications so soon. Any thoughts out there.

It's possible they ran out, ask them if they can put the GT's manual transmission in there. Okay, they won't do that.

You are getting a GT, not a V6, two different transmissions.

I thought about that too, but the dealer did show me a copy of the email from Ford's district rep. saying change to an automatic or order a 2006.

Can't find a V6 standard with the options you want? Just seems like they're all over the place... gotta be able to find one somewhere. What options did you order? Have you tried www.fordvehicles.com dealership inventory check?

They do set the allotments for transmissons just like they set it for GT's. So many will will be auto and so many will be manual.

But have you physically went to several dealerships and looked? V-6 standards are everywhere here in Texas. Pick your color off the lot. Now, the GT - forgettaboutit - won't find one. Good luck!

Before I ordered the v6 and now that my order has been cancelled, the dealer did a nationwide Ford dealer seach. None available at over 4000 dealerships seached. Looking for a redfire delux v6 with manual transmission, IUP, Red leather interior, and upgraded rims. I didn't think it would be that hard to find, but thats one reason I liked it.

Intereresting, I was told last week by a Ford rep that the GT manual tranny was in very short supply.

That only tells me that the MY06 is not going to start out well.
Unless of coarse they are using a different tranny.

My order also got bumped back in Feb due to the IUP lawsuit....I used this dealer search link and then checked inventory over the entire western US. I found almost what I wanted.

If you have time...I would check yourself...forget about the dealer doing it. They can say they do the search, but I personally found out they only did half the work I did.

I couldn't get the IUP I wanted, but I did find the color and a standard tranny in stock. I did however, have my car upgraded with the MyColor gauges...it wasn't build that way...but I am happy now.

I have seen exactly ONE manual six here!

Its like Eleanor- she's an auto, but I took her rather than do without.

It's quite possible that they haven't actually run out of manuals but have in fact built all of the V6 manuals they have planned to build for MY05. In that case, it all starts over for MY06 with V6 manuals readily available.

I just did a quick search for V6 manuals on fordvehicles.com and I found at least 30 manual V6 cars in the area for every color and option. You should have no problem going anywhere and finding one?

Was it serialized yet ?

If yes did you got a build date from Ford, or just dealer reports?
