my journey to installing rear rotors

holy smokes ...

lol

what should have taken 2 hours at most took me 6 hours..

starting at about 3pm ..the driver side went fine..everything off relatively easily..then i realized i forgot to pick up the caliper tool...lol.. so 90 minutes later in my fathers E250 and while my car was stuck on the jackstand and right at 6pm when all the places closed the 4th place i tried actually had the kit..you know the orange box with the handle..soo anyway..

i get back and finally turn the piston back in.. while tearing some skin off the palm of my hand from that **** handle lol. its dar but i figure il do the passenger rear..i figure since i have the tool..what the hell.. itl probably take 30 min...HAHAHAH WORNG

so i go to put the caliper back into the bracket and lo and behold..the dealership that did my rear brakes last tightened those 2 bolts that go into the caliper sliders WAAAY too tight instead of 24ft lbs..so BOTH snap halfway out...sooo..now its cold and like 8pm and im drilling into the broken bolts to try and remove them and finally at 9pm i get the 2nd bnolt out..so everythings fine right? ..wrong i figure il use the bolts off my old V^ front calipers...but theyre too small ..lol so now i put everything back minus the bolts and put the wheel back on and pushed it into the driveway and now i gotta run to the dealer tomorrow and hope they have those bolts in stock.. .. i already called work and left a message that i have no brakes...not gonna be in monday lol

IM FRIGGIN EXHAUSTED lol..and missing some skin in the palm of my right hand..but at least im only 2 bolts away from being done with the rears... thank god the dealer never touched the fronts which are GT takeoffs..

Not how I would want to start the week, but just make the repairs correctly and the reward is all yours.

Atleast you have more time to take pictures to show us all. What did you end up going with?

Don't you know bu now, if you do something such as this on a Sunday afternoon something is bound to go south and you can't get parts/tools until Monday. Not to be funny, but it will all work out.

that's what always happens. I hate working on my daily driver, without a backup plan, cuz I know something will go wrong.
