I happened to stop by my dealer this afternoon and my Black GT came in last night. When I walked in my salesman tossed me the keys and asked if I wanted to take it out for a ride (of course a did). I had to remove the plastic from the steering wheel myself. Car hadn't been touched. It was nicer than I could have ever expected, this is my 5th Mustang ('68 289 Coupe, '87 LX 5.0, '89 LX 5.0 Sport, '98 GT, and now the '05 GT) and this is by far the nicest, stiffest chassis, best handling, and quickest one yet.
I can't believe that I ordered it on 1/5/05, was built on 2/14/05, I delivered to the dealer on 2/19/05.
I've bought a few cars from this dealer and have brought many more sales to them, but I still can't believe the turn around time.
It makes me feel kind a guilty considering those of you waiting so long. I really believe most, if not all, of you waiting so long are only doing so because of the dealer you chose.
BTW, the car is Black with IUP & ICAP (red leather), 5 speed manual, bullitts, active theft, wheel locks, and spoiler delete.
Thanks

Excellent. The black with red int is a good choice. Post pics when you get chance I would like to see it with the spoiler delete.
I am really surprised the short time span between build and delivery.
What area are you in. Sounds like you are either close to the plant or they sent your car via the non-stop express train.

Congrats !!!!! That is one quick turn around time, almost hard to believe. Do you live real close to the plant in MI.? To even have the car shipped that quick is a miracle in its its own right.

Thank you everyone. I live in Cincinnati about 270 miles from Detroit, so not really that close. I bought the car from Woody Sander Ford here in Cincy.
As far as playing the lottery today, maybe I should have. When I got home sitting there were also the 2 Auto Art 1/18 scale Mustang's I ordered from EWA cars a couple weeks ago (3 Stang's in one day!!!).
I hope all those who have waiting so long get the call soon and those who ordered recently have as fast a turn around as I did.
Thanks again.............. I'm going for a ride, see ya!

Glad to hear a good turn around time story.
I ordered almost exactly the same thing on 1-20-05.
Got a call Monday and was told it should be here around the second week of March.
I live in Dayton so I hope some of that Cincinnati luck rubs off.
Have fun and post some pics if you can.

Congratulations!!! How come your dealer didn't call you? I'll bet you were amazed to see it there! Have fun! Oh yeah, can't believe nobody posted this yet

Congratulations! Your car is equipped exactly the same as mine. If I had to replace it, I would order the same thing again. Have fun driving her and don't feel too guilty :drive: :drive: :drive:

I settled on ordering one from Farifield Ford, redfire GT. I ordered a month after you (FEb 6). I'm supposed to have a production date tomorrow. That tells me mine should be here sometime the end of March.
Congrats on yours. The Car show is at the convention center. Don't know if you went, but they had two "Stangs there. One Blue GT and one V6 'vert on display right in the middle of the convention center.

graphicguy,
Yeah I did make it to the Auto Expo at the Convention Center, that Sonic Blue GT looked real nice as did the Legend Lime V6 convertible (the first convertible I've seen). What'd you think of the Ford GT right next to the Sonic Blue Mustang? Pretty nice?
Woody Sander Ford has always been good to me, haven't had any experience with Fairfield Ford but sounds like they treated you o.k.
If you have the same turn around I did you should be seeing her near the end of March, as you stated.
What part of town are you from? I'm from Delhi/Green Township area.
Good luck with your GT, it will feel like eternity, but shouldn't be too long.
Thanks
