Thumbs up

I ordered my '06 about a month ago now and I've been fighting with my salesman to get a copy of the DORA. After a while I figured that my salesman was just clueless so I called one of the sales managers. Oddly enough he said he doesn't have a copy of the DORA but that i'm the 2nd 06 order they got. He assured me that the factory has my order and that it should get serialized by the 20th of this month. He also gave me a dealer order #, T631 or something like that. I'm glad to hear that the order should get pulled soon but why is it so darn hard to get a copy of the DORA. The dealer is Shcultz Ford in Bardonia, NY.

A lot of dealers do not give the customer a copy of the Dora mainly because it shows invoice figures and a lot of dealers are secretive of that amount. If the car is ordered and you have an order number, then a Dora exists somewhere. Usually the person who actually doe the ordering is the one who keeps them. Each dealership has their own procedures.

If it's dealership policy why don't they just tell me. Price is no secret, I paid D-plan!

I got the runaround for my DORA, too. I gave up trying to get it when I found my car was scheduled for build using the VOC.

How'd you figure it out? How do you get your build using your VOC?

All you need is the Dealer #, Year of the car, Body Style, and Order #. All of these are on the VOC.

Ok, but what do you do with that information? Call the Ford corporate offices?

I just give ol' Billy Ford a quick ring and he'll check into it for me. J/K

You can check your order using the 800 number and the automated vehicle status system. This is supposed to be used by dealers only, but it gets leaked and some people stumble upon it sometimes. BTW, check your PM.

You should insist on getting your DORA so you can verify the car was ordered exactly as you wanted. Mistakes can be made when entering it in the computer.

Here is the info you need.

1. Your dealer code (the dealer number)

2. Your order number given to you by the dealer (drop the letter)

3. Your body style (t80 for v6 t82 for v8)

4. The year of you car (eg 2006)

Follow this link for the number:
