ive seen more GT's then v6's on the road anyway

Believe it or not, here in NW Ohio I have yet to even see one on the road, GT or V6!

Ryan

I am from NW Ohio as well, and I have only seen one GT, and not a single V6!

Down in here in the part of world where it doesn't snow, they're everywhere. I see several GTs and V6s every day and unlike some areas, V6s aren't stacking up on dealer lots. Most dealers have 1 or 2 V6s and only a few have a GT (and it doesn't sit there long).

Oh, you all want a good one? It seems that Frank Weyer (whiner) has claimed a patent on domain names and now he's suing for infringement on that. Here's a link to the story...

p.s. I thought Al Gore invented the internet, too bad he didn't patent it. :P

I sent an email to Fred Weyer and got the following response;

Ray,
I met with Ford on Friday, and they have taken a license to the patent. If the lawsuit caused any delays, it should do so no longer.

So boys and girls it looks like orders with IUP might be back on track.

Thank for that wonderful information. This guy is the scum of the earth. What a piece of horse poo! Its people like this that justifies a "He needed killin'" law. Is there anyway we, the people, could sue this guy for wasting people and the courts time and money for P.O.S frivolous lawsuits? What's he gonna do next, patent the way all animals convert oxygen from air in order to breathe?

Hopefully this helps Slavehand. If you type Fred Weyer - IUP on your web browser PR Web release will come up showing his email address. He probably has his phone line disconnected. Actually the phone line is probably for his lawyer's office.

All right, some of the people on this forum need to relax. The guy pobably thought he had legit cause to sue FORD. Now people want to get his email address to "say a few things to him". Come on. let's grow up.

No, I am calm. I just hate maggots like this who would rather try to find a loophole in the system to make his pockets fatter than his head. I think I'm entittled to let him know what that he's a low life P.O.S. It's like I said when I first read this guys "claim". Ford did not steal MyColor. They purchased the units from Delphi, makers of stereo equipment, etc. He got mad because Ford opted for Delphi. He then filed a suit saying that Ford stole his patent. This guy is the one who needs to grow up. So I would appreciate it if you, sir, would not defend his actions.

I don't think he was trying to defend him. I think he was just saying let's not lynch him. Put down your torches guys. We won, he lost.

Here in NE Ohio and Akron Ohio area I have only seen 3 GT's and one is my fathers and the other 2 were on lots. I see more V6 Mustangs on dealer lots, but wait until it gets warmer.

Last Saturday at the Mid-Florida Mustang Club annual show, about 15 privately owned 2005 Mustangs were shown, most of which were GTs. The local dealers and the Saleen dealer had about 6 on display. Down here we drive Mustangs year-round!

So, whats the last word on this, has Mr Weiner climbed back in his hole? I could not find any new information on the injunction. I wonder if Ford paid him off to go away.

Anyone know the production numbers as of date for the '05 Mustang?
I saw a guy post that his was being built this week and his VIN# is 176,xxx and they schedule them about 2 weeks in advance with about 2500 a week being built. So anywhere between 74-78 thousand so far is my rough estimate.

If they get the injunction today will production of the IUP stop today? Who knows the law?

Alright, I'm a lawyer but don't hold it against me...And as a disclaimer: this is not legal advice and you should see a lawyer with your individual situation rather than using this synopsis of the law. So here we go...

This bonehead made the mistake of stating his damages in his complaint i.e. $4 per car. Rule #1 of injunctions is that they will only be issued where irreprable harm will result if not issued. This would happen say, if someone had a particular piece of property and then didn't want to sell it to you. Or if something was going to be destroyed and you wanted to stop it. The idea of an injunction is kind of like a "time out" because the court can't act quick enough and there is really no way to fix the situation with money, or otherwise, if the situation happens. Here, this crackpot stated his damages in dollars exactly, therefore, an injunction WILL NOT be issued. His only recourse is to sue Ford and seek a judgment of $4 per car sold without his permission, assuming he has a valid claim. I don't know anything about the validity of his claim, but I do know that he's screwed on his injunction.

So... don't hold it against me because I'm a lawyer... I still love the new Mustangs!

Ryan
[/b][/quote]

He never stated the $4 per car in his complaint. Even if he had, that in itself would not have foreclosed injunctive relief.

It isn't the best reasoned brief I've read, but he does have what appears to be a triable claim of infringement. It would be a messy enough litigation that Ford was probably smart to settle it this early, hopefully for cheap.

I guess my biggest issue with the whole patent system is how the patent office works. Lately, it seems like they WOULD issue a patent for "A process for low temperature oxidation of fuel for the production of energy to sustain and suport carbon based systems". Or even the URL. Oh. They already issues a patent on that one...

At the rate the patent office is going, they are going to totally destroy the whole idea of a patent in the first place.
