Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh at how mislead liberals are or fear for my country if they ever take the White House.

"The problem with our liberal friends is just that they know so much that just isn't so."
-Ronald Regan

I hope your not one of the folks that has been misled about Bush being a "Good Christian" with family values. The only values he has shown me are that of a corporate tool. As I see it family values and corporate values are not compatible.

And no I'm not a tree hugging liberal. I'm a Christian that believes you put people before money.Like the SSI bs, how can you save SSI buy diverting money from the plan to individual stock market accounts.Sounds like (as daddy Bush would say) Voodoo economics to me. And SSI is not an entitlement program it's an insurance plan that I have been paying into for 30 years. Democrats and Republicans have had there grubby little hand all over SSI using it as there own savings account.

Sorry it had to be said.

I did not see that Bush was part of the question Alan. You need to lighten up a little. You will get better gas milage.

I thought Kansas was a red state?

I'm not Bush bashing I'm politician bashing. And about red and blue states I think that is bs as well.I'm registered as an independent. I vote issues and record not party lines. Think for yourself.

As for the original topic, the stang is no big gas hog. It's been tuned to run better on a lower octane fuel and like someone else said the emissions are very low.

It's kind of like the folks that painted and burned up a number of SUV's on a sales lot. ( I think they were Hummers). They did more damage to the ozone with the paint's and the smoke from the burning plastics than would have been done buy the suv's had they run out there life expectancies. There is enough supidity to go around as I see it. IMO

MustangDan ~ Are you sure that you & your brother are from the same parents? Surely one of you couldn't love the stang & the other hate it. It's just not right. I would demand a DNA test just to be sure.

My 4cyl 5spd Jeep Wrangler gets horrible gas mileage. 10-11mpg if I'm lucky. I'm looking forward to having a lot more power and better gas mileage.
BTW
John Kerry says that he does not own an SUV, his wife does.

Actually it's a Suburban, and he actually said that.
I'm not bashing anyone, I just thought that was funny when I heard it.
Reporting from FLORIDA... a RED, WHITE, and BLUE STATE. Too bad more of us aren't that way.

As a self-proclaimed liberal weenie on 99/100 issues, I exercise my option to take a pass on my mode of transportation. To me it's like a fine Scotch or a good Cigar. The sheer enjoyment simply outweighs the personal and social consequences in this case. Yes, we all "could" have bought Honda Insights or Priuses. But where's the enjoyment in that?

interesting thought.

is he the younger one? in which case you should be (or should have) doing what i do: brainwashing

"American Muscle is the way to go
imports are good but only in snow
a honda makes a very good beater
in the winter keeps the stang a whole lot neater
toyota, nissan, honda, subaru
if you buy one, you'll feel like poo"

and repeat. each session should be around 30 min in length. works best when they are not concious.

works like a charm

will turn interests from bodykitted civic to 67 couger within 2 months guaranteed

When it goes up to $5.00 a gallon it will probly b the year 2020! . . . The most expensive it has ever been (near me) is $3.02/Gal and that was in summer 2002 when the gas really went up! . . . Hey it cud b worst we cud all b driving SUVs! . . . And come to think of it the gas prices have been getting lower latly . . . rite now thy are around $2.20 in the city (S.F.) and for San Franisco that is an amazing price! . . . We have the highest priced gas in the country . . .

I will worry when gas actually gets more expensive -- adjusted for inflation, gas is about the same price now as it has always been.

but u kno, 2020 aint that far off. but then again, if you think about it, $5.00 will not be as significant then. it will be roughly the same amount to pay, compared to your income anyway

i mean 2.50 a gallon doesnt seem that much anymore (or whatever it is u pay, but thats what it is here), but it would if you went back 15 years. but 15 years ago, everything was cheaper. as time goes on, the market value of the dollar will depreciate. it aint gonna be that bad

EDIT: S197cobra, sorry u posted while i was typing lol. great minds think alike

As far as gas prices go, even at $3.00 a gallon, we (the USA) have the cheapest gas of any non-OPEC country (I'm guessing gas costs more in Canada). Just as an example, gas is right around $5.00 a gallon (if you convert liters to gallons) in most of Europe and in Japan. Sure, the majority of their cars are small, but most don't get 30+ mpg like most people think. Just for the record, I used to have a Liberty 4X4 V-6 and it got 15 city/20 hwy until I put a K&N FIPK on it, then it went to 18/23, still not great but better. My Mini Cooper S gets 23/34 with a K&N typhoon and magnaflow catback. I'll be giving up a few mpg when I get my GT, but I reallllly don't care.

p.s. gas is 6 cents a gallon in Saudi Arabia
