As of 6:00 saturday, there is still no official "ok to ship". Even after that, I wouldn't expect any quicker than 7-10 days. The ok to ship came over a week ago on the freestyle and they aren't at the dealers yet.

I think it is really dumb for a dealer to say your car WILL be here tomorrow. The dealer can't control this, nor know for sure what exact day the car will be in. It gets put on a truck, and the driver can go anywhere from there. It shows up,,, whenever. I tell customers " your car could, might, may be in,,,". But it might not.

I just wanted to let everyone know that as of yesterday, there are two 05 freestyles and two 500's at the dealer two blocks from my house in Margate, Fl.. (thats between Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale BTW). They may have been there for a while as it takes time to prep them from shipping (Removing protective plastic, detailing, Ect.) Anyway, love the site and glad to be aboard!

 

I saw 2 500's at my local dealer this week...started me thinking also...but I agree, doesn't sound like the mustang happened...oh well...

 

On the bright side of all of this, we are all alot closer than we were in the beginning

About 8 years ago, I worked in MakeReady as my first full time job after highschool. We were a small dealership the entire MakeReady dept was 3 guys.

We could take a truck load of cars just off the truck, remove the plastic, clean the cars, process its Dealer QA checklist(Around 250 points checklist) and line it up on the lot

We could do an entire truckload in about 3 hours.

Some cars would have an added protection applied to them. This would be some kind of clear chemical wax like protectant(gave the car a frosted look) that had to be removed with a cleanser that came with the car, this would add about 15 to 20 minutes for each car that came with such protection.

If it was a hoax, it was fun nonetheless. I hopped in my car and booted to my dealer hoping to maybe see a V6. As I pulled in I noticed no one in the lot and quickly sped off, fearing my poor salesman would think I was coming in for a second update in 3 days. Poor bugger has spent more time on my preorder than he ever bargained for

 

This release for Ford is a little different. I took delivery of my 05 300C on 4/9/04. This model had a release date of 4/22/04. New model but I got mine ahead of schedule. My 02 T-bird (which I will be trading for 05 stang) was delayed for intro delivery by around 6 months! I just don't know, like Fords but sometimes I just don't understand???

 

50-cent got his 300C like 6 months before they were released! And, of course he immediately ghettofied it.

Does anybody know what the JOB1 date was for the 500 and Freestyle? Maybe then we could truly find out how much longer it will be before the 'stangs start showing up.

 

My guess is 05mach1 pitched a tent at dealership tonight and is gonna wait em out.Oh well maybe he will get by monday? I know i personally got a message from a dealships sales manager about the 05 mustang today (darn was out) and i have not even placed a order yet...(could it be there will be one in next week?)

 

It would have been nice to hear something from Mach1, I know he is far more busy with 'sheep' in his car, joke! If he pitched a tent at the dealership, he should of at least taken a lap-top with a wireless lan inside so he could post 'live' threads to us! How selfish of him! Joke!

Maybe, he couldn't put a laptop in there as there is no room as he has all his 'sheep' in there! Joke...Again!

 

My local ford dealer has a Freestyle on the lot. Nice looking hybrid! it looks kinda like a small
explorer in car form. It is at Paul Miller Ford in Lexington.

 

there are 500's on the floor in southern ct. i checked on this yesterday when i called about the 05 mustang. jackg 90seville 95k

 

I have no doubt 05's will show up at dealerships this week, but 99% will not be for customers who placed orders. Car makers want to have vehicles to show on display, not receive them and have the buyer drive it away in an hour. That is why someone who didn't even place an order will get an 05 first, they simply know a salesman good enough to say they want the first 05 the dealership receives.

Don't forget those "other" exclusive car lots that sell the hot cars and exotics for over the sticker because they are hard to get. They will ****** up what they can as soon as they hit the lots. Of course that will change after the bulk of the cars come out.

 

I hope your car gets in soon, im anxious to see it I'm starting to get very envious though

 

I envision one of 2 possibilities of headlines for 05Mach1's weekend...

1) 05Mach1 receives awesome new 05 Mustang and quits job to drive his new ride 24 x 7 as goodwill ambassador for the new model. So many dealers in the local area are calling him to come by and show off his new ride to other rabid Mustang fans he is unable to return to his home for days and report to his brothers and sisters on The Mustang Source.

2) 05Mach1 spends week in jail after assault charges filed due to repeated kicks to the ding ding of the salesman who called to tell him his new ride was coming in...but it didn't!!!



Hopefully #1 is the case but you always have to consider #2!!!
