Well I don't know about him, but the dealer he talked about is one of Fords own "Trustmark" dealerships and they have everything. If any dealer gets firstclass treatment then its the Trustmark ones. If they get some in before mine gets here I might drive over there and check them out.

AAI is now shootting for this Wednesday (Sept 29th) to get OK to Ship.

One of the reasons I have heard that they have not received it to date is, that the line has to shut down every once and a while, and Ford management wants the line to run continously for a certan period of before they give OK to ship.

On a side note i sure hope everything with 05mach1 is ok and i hate to sound mean but if he DIDN'T get his car when the DEALER said he would i dont think SOME members on this thread are being very nice about it. even if you do think hes lieing i don't think its very nice to say so. i just don't think its right to say something about him when he has not been given a chance to explain himself as hes not been on in a while alright i'm sorry i'm off my soap box now guys.

Mach1 is a great guy who's always been an active contributor to this site and is liked. For you to bash him, let alone on your first post, is uncalled for. We are a close group here. These guys and gals are friends. And I don't like it when people bash my friends. :nono:

And as far as "substance to back it up"...... so far, you have a lot less than him from what I've seen in your first post.

na na nana, na na nana, hey hey hey, goodbye...or however that goes. Harshness. I very much enjoy this site, but it's clowns like some of these senseless bashers that sortof spoil the atmosphere. Not necessary or needed in these parts. Sometimes, expectations are created that cannot be controlled or attained. We have here, 1 person (mach), 1 salesman, multiple truckers, multiple conductors (rail), multiple variables. This is the cycle of manufacturing. I work for a large manufacturer and I still do not create expectations that I do not have 100% control over. Give mach a little slack, he's just a person wanting this car as much as the next, relying on information from a person about a car that he more than likely knows more about. I know I'd be pretty darn excited if my dealer called me and told me my car would be in this weekend.

Sorry for rambling, I've been couped up in this house for a few days now--without power and a lot of mess to clean up. Hurricane Jeanne. I finally went and purchased a wireless card so that I can get online. I've been deprived from this addictive site for a few days.

 

I sure hope you are not critisizing my harshness. If you are, it is pretty ridiculous, because I was just pointing out what a stupid comment that he made.

It is absolutely inexcusable (sp) to make that comment on this board. Not only does the new V6 look great, and have a great engine, maybe not everyone can afford a GT. I stand by my original statement.

To tell you the truth, I really didn't detect any hostility in his tone. Rather than have a false sense of hope, I am glad that he just gave a little tid bit of information that could be useful in determining who is at fault of why he did not get his car. He is not be mean, he is just inputting his observation.

ElanorsMine: I'm not a guru on any of this (so be gentle). But I think both dealers can be telling the truth. My understanding is some dealers will hold one as a demo -- so they'll quote when they get their first car as the date. (We'll have one in next week). Most dealers exist to move inventory, so they know if they are going to get only a few cars in on early production, and they're all pre-ordered and deposited, that they won't have any to show until mid-October. So they'll say mid october or later. Also you have differences in priorities based on how many units they've moved in the past. (High volume dealers get bumped forward in the shipto list). And also some dealers are just more aggressive. They know if they start shipping in a couple days, they could get one as early as this/next week; and it doesn't hurt to make you visit often and build a relationship. Others are being more pessimistic/realistic.

 

As the gentleman has stated, I'm not flaming. I've had YEARS of contact with Frank (05Mach1) on SEVERAL Boards. How bout I reword it....It is very frequent that things 05Mach1 says turn out to be untrue. Could this be another event? Likely. Does he have his car right now as I type? maybe. I'm just pointing out that he has been involved in serveral other "instances" just like this. Second point, what does it matter if its my first post or my 100th post? It doesn't change the fact that its Tuesday and we STILL haven't heard from Frank. This is happened before and will happen again.

 

Thanks, sir! This jives with what we heard at the Job 1 celebration. According to one of the Mustang engineers, no cars have left the plant yet. Needless to say, 05mach1 was disappointed. Yes, he was at the Job 1 celebration. We are not sure why his dealer gave him the information they did.
