His purchase of a V6 allows you to drive your V8. Without the V6, the Mustang would not exist. And, it is actually a very respectable ride as far as base models are concerned. How many sub-$20k cars do you know of that have 210 hp and 240 lb/ft of torque? Not to mention the great styling and incredible interior...

Sheesh, it's pretty closed-minded to not realize that a lot of people can't afford the GT, or that not everyone cares about performance. Your narrow viewpoint seems very testosterone-driven. I love fast cars just as much as the next guy, but for every two guys like us, there are ten other people who just want a sporty look for not a lot of money.

Are they all hiding somewhere and after the launch tomorrow they will be on lots?

I have not ventured out of my town all weekend, so needless I have not been angered at the ford dealer.

 

The new 05 V6 are nothing to be ashamed of at all.

 

They're gonna have some punch with that 4.0L. Its a torquey engine.

 

What IS the torque rating by the way? Heck they already have almost as much hp as a '93 GT!

now, as for Automatics and V6s

like Iven said (it hurts to agree with him, but, it must be done!) some of us arent really looking for 4 second 0-60 times, some just want a cruiser that has some punch when needed (unlike my pontiac which is a slug, and packs the punch of an 84 year old grandmother in an iron lung!)

and, the Automatic Transmission is not a bad thing at all, its a bit more convienient than a stickshift and, as was posted earlier, still gets GREAT times in the 1/4 mile and the 0-60

so, yeah,

First - NO one should be bashing anything here. This is a friendly forum with room for all, V6 or V8. I agree with what someone else said - if you don't like it, leave - it's simple enough.

Next, what the heck has happened to 05mach1? Has ANYone heard from the guy? I sure hope he got his car and is just too busy enjoying it to reply here but it sure would be nice to know if his '05 came in and how it looks!

 

I'm sure he didn't get his car. I am almost 100 percent sure his dealer lied to him.

Mach-Don't let that make you embarassed to tell us what happened, I am sure you will get yours soon enough.

 

from what i've heard, none of the '05's will be on the lots till wednesday.

05Mach1 is a perpetual lier. Has been for quite some time. I've been following his post on stangnet and Mach1registry for a long time. He likes to be the center of attention, but has little or no substance to back it up.

 

Aw... I hope that isn't the case here. With the details he listed, he surely sounded believable.
