My '06 is beeping at me!
Guys:
Anyone encountered this before?
2006 GT 5-spd...
Interior "bell" is dinging at me when I open the driver's door. All lights are set to "off" position, keys out of ignition. Passenger door closed, trunk closed, hood closed.
The dinging goes away after I start the car, with the normal startup dings occuring. No warning messages displayed in message center, fuel, volts, and oil pressure are good.
My car is equipped with Active Anti-Theft, this occurred after I unlocked the driver's door remotely w/ the Fob...this has never happened before so I am a bit concerned...is there something I could be missing?

That has happened to me on one of my demo's at my dealership. If you take the key out of the ignition, and the tumbler in the column isn't 100% back, and just the slightest bit turned forward (still enough to get the key out though) when you open the car to get out, and the lights are off, and the key is in your hand, the computer senses that the key is still in the ignition. Just stick the key back in, jiggle it a little in the off position. This should stop it from dinging. It did this in my Escape. Hope this works for you.

OK the jiggling didn't work
Also I noticed that if I try to lock the car using the power lock buttons on the door, if the door is open, the car will automatically unlock the door right away....

Has anyone had to get their ignition keyset replaced on an S197 or new T-Bird before?
If so, how long does it usually take for a dealer to perform such an operation?
