mustang engine light very discreet ticking
This is my second ford and both my engines have made the same really light and I mean really light ticking. My buddy said that's just how Ford motors sound. Is this true? Only reason why I'm confused is another mutual friend has a 05 gto and when he pops the hood its quiet as can be?? Should I be worried? My engine only has 49 thousand on it??

The slight tick is normal.

Same for the Traction-Lok diff. They post about 'noises' in the rear end when its just the clutch pack doing its job.
Mustang owners need to do a little bit of mechanical homework.

Now you can tell your buddy that its not a "Ford thing". Its the sophisticated race design of an overhead cam engine.
I love the clickity clack and whirring sound of an OHC!

I know that's right, now I can rest easy, I bought my mustang used, I'm second owner, even made contact with previous owner and he is an old retiree and this
was his weekend driver, Lois Lane only have 49 thousand miles bone dry stock and the guy reported he babied it. Inside and out look like it just was just sold off the lot, but being second owner I was worried, but like I said my Ford five hundred I owned prior made same noise but it defiantly eases my mind that that's how the better side of the tracks sound, I will tell my ocd to chill.

Thanks, yup I'm already reading up on cai and tuners, short shift kits. And I'm planning on changing the dual rally stripes to one big one with small red pin stripping on both sides of stripe. Don't want big rims after riding on 23's with my previous ride I'm enjoying the extra meat and tread on the nexens. But eventually I'll get some svt's or something along those lines, maybe 18's but no way will I go any bigger.
Thanks everyone for adding input!
