Thats a crock about getting pulled over about noise.

I had shattered cats (the insides were mostly gone) and I had no mufflers and from the headers to the end of the exhaust tip was less than about 5 feet.

My lincoln was freaking loud. I woke up my neighbors starting it up in the garage. Then revving it so it wouldn't stall right on start.

My car was like that for 2 years out of the 2.5 years I owned it.

Never got pulled over. Heck I even messed around with Riceburners. They'd rev thier tiny four cylinder with trashcan and I was next to them....BAM they shut up.... You could not hear yourself talk at 60 miles per hr. At 75 your ears would hurt and in order to talk to osmeone next to you you literally had to yell.

Cops won't pull you over as often if ever for noise in michigan. I use to launch my car a lot and rev the snot out of it.....nothing. Cops would pull next to me and nothing....just give me a dirty look.
