If ya'll remember, I posted a few times about how good the MPG was on my GT. I was averaging about 21 MPG before the oil change(about 400 miles ago). Now that I feel the engine is broken-in...I JUST CAN'T KEEP MY RIGHT FOOT OUT OF IT!!!

I'm gonna get a ticket real soon here...."Hello, my name is Doug: and I'm an accelleraholic. I CAN"T HELP IT!!!!"

I'm averaging in the 14MPG range now

So that's my problem!! I, too, only get about 14 mpg around town. On the highway, it zooms up to 23 mpg. Sounds like we need a tune.

Ive only had my car a few days....slowly breaking it in whether its required or not. The owners manual said drive after different speeds for the first 1000 miles. So I am doing that, but I have a heavy foot anyways so the gas just keeps flowing.

Ya...I figured just owning it would be bad for gas mileage.

Yeah, my last V8 (the '69) averaged 10-12 mile per gallon. No A/C either (boy that was a delight in the summer).

So 14mpg with a heavy foot is still a step up. Gotta burn hydrocarbs if you wanna go fast!
