I like the idea of seeing where people like to take their rides. I'd like to see yours.
One of my favorites around here, out of San Jose, CA., is up Hwy 9 out of Saratoga to Hwy 35; a.k.a Skyline. It's a great road the skirts along the top of the mountains that separate the Bay Area from the Pacific Coast. On one side you have a view looking over the rolling hills to the ocean. On the other side of the road you have a view of the entire Bay Area.
Photo #1; that's San Francisco about 30 miles to the North.
#2; The view looking down toward Stanford University then across the South Bay toward Fremont and the East foothills.
#3; This is Skyline looking South toward the Santa Cruz Mountains.

One more shot. This is looking West toward the Pacific Coast just south of Half Moon Bay near Pescadero.
This is a great drive, especially if you take the loop from Skyline down 84 to Peacadero, South on Hwy 1 (the Coast Hwy) to Santa Cruz then up Hwy 9 and back to Skyline. About a 3 hour drive.

This pic is a couple of years old, but here I am on the Blue Ridge Parkway, a nice little stretch of asphalt running the length of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina and Virginia. The 'Stang and I enjoyed our all-terrain adventure...
Can't wait to repeat the journey with the '05!

Here's another good ride if you're down in the high desert region. Stay off the main highway and you have lots of open road.
#1; If you ever want to open-er up..... this was the drive down to my cousins. That's close to 20 miles to the foothills of nothing straight but open road.
#2; My cousins place (hey....some people love the desert and no trees); Palm Springs is at the base of the mountain in the background. The road getting there go through Devils Canyon.....
#3; The ride home 2 days later. You could see forever.
