We have to take them to authorised vehicle servicing centres where we can either do the job ourselves for a small fee or let the firm do it for a slightly larger fee - either way the waste fluids are disposed of by the service centre in accordance with EU regulations.
The days of dodgy owners 'hiding' the waste oil down the storm drains are long gone over here...

Around here every autoparts store, service station, and a few other places will take used motor oil for recycling. I used to take it to AutoZone or AdvanceAuto but a surplus shop a half mile down the road now takes it, they burn it for heat in the winter. They even have an outside tank I can use after hours if I want to. I often buy the 5 qt jugs of Mobil 1 at Walmart, then pour the oil back in to those after draining it to dispose of.

Advance Auto, about 2 miles from house, will take my oil. Just bring it in, and pour it out. Curb side would be even better, though!!

Thank God I don't live in Europe!
A lot of countries in Europe (including the UK where I'm from and Germany where I live) prohibit car-owners doing fluid changes on their own vehicles on thier own property, due to environmental considerations...

Ford specifies FULL synthetic WSS-M2C931-B
Ford specifies FULL synthetic. I buy mine from my Ford Parts department.
From the GT500 owners Manuel:
ENGINE OIL RECOMMENDATION
Use Motorcraft SAE 5W-50 full synthetic or an equivalent SAE 5W-50 full
synthetic oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C931-B.
Do not use supplemental engine oil additives, cleaners or other engine
treatments. They are unnecessary and could lead to engine damage that
is not covered by Ford warranty.
Change your engine oil and filter according to the appropriate schedule
listed in the Scheduled Maintenance Guide.

Conoco makes the oil for Ford/Motorcraft.
Ford/Motorcraft has synthetic blends AND fully synthetic engine oils. Ford/Motorcraft lubricants are woefully overpriced. $20 for 1 qt of synthetic gear oil versus $7-$9 for 1 qt of Redline/Royal Purple gear oil. I rest my case.
As for disposing of used oil properly, any service station or place that sells new oil will take it for FREE. That means: Advance Auto, Auto Zone, Wal-Mart, and Murray's will take your used oil for free. Just make sure you ask their auto department FIRST before you schlep around 6 qt of used oil.
