Good luck with the Vette Don.
Keep it close when you win.

As far as dealers go, the place we bought a 2003 Explorer (new). Bought a 40th Anniversary Mustang (new).
Traded the 2003 Explorer for a 2001 Expedition (used), so we could tow the 40th Ann., and bought our 2005 Mustang GT (new) from,
no longer gets ANY of our business, including routine service. They have already lost one sale from us when we went to a new Expedition.

Well, this got a little away from what I said at the beginning.
Have fun with your new ride.

You know, I just don't buy this "Ford can't control their dealers" stuff. If Ford management wanted to, they could find ways to impose some sort of discipline on problem dealers and lessen the kind of lousy treatment too many Ford customers experience. ...sorry for the rant...

I hope you enjoy your Corvette, Don.

(And I hope Ford reads this thread.)

After canceling the order, I placed an order for an '06 Corvette which I will pick-up at the factory Friday, October 14th (GM does not allow dealer interference with an order once accepted.

That is one thing that I must give Corvette kudos to. When you order a Vette from the factory, you get the chance to watch it being produced, and best of all, YOU get to start the car on a virgin engine. If I recall correctly, you even get a birth certificate for the car!

Must admit, that is a cool program they have with them.

Good luck and enjoy!

WOW !!!

Like I said, you're a great bunch. All your positive comments are greatly appreciated. Maybe I will keep reading the mail after all.

...and don't worry about me killing Mustangs; ...it just aint in me.

After all, there will always be a place in my garage for a Mustang. Maybe I will swap the Vette for an SVT Type somewhere down the road.

Again, thanks for the flowers - I will do what I can to deserve them.

Don

Well enjoy the new Vette. At least you are in an area to use it year around!

There are Dealers of all vehicles that suck at customers relations one way or another. They are just looser people, that should be in another line of work. Like maybe ditch digging in Iraq. I'm sure you could find a good Ford Dealer in Atlanta area to be happy to have your sale next time around.

The only problem I have with museum delivery is the extra charge. I don't recall the amount, but it isn't cheap.

Sorry you had a bad experience with your dealer. Was going to get the shelby but after some of the horror stories I've been hearing about possible markup's from my friend, I'll kepp my GT and commence with the modding . If I did have the fund's, I would really get a :worship: Z06 but the government conspiracy against me winng the lottery make's that a dream at this point.

Good luck with the new :worship: Vette!

I think I would pay that. I've spent more on less.

Enjoy the Vette.

Hey Don, always look at the bright side. The Mustang will be around in it's current form until about 2010.

You've got plenty of time to get one from someone who isn't going to try and pull your shorts down. When you find that dealership/person, stick with them

Good luck with the Vette! That's a car in a whole other class of cars, probably why nobody is giving you grief

Now if you were getting a 350Z/G35 you'd see some different responses for sure.

Better yet, get a GTO, you'd NEVER hear the end of it!
