I ordered a Redfire 2005 Mustang V6 with a 5 speed automatic early this summer and haven't yet gotten my build date or VIN number. My dealer called me today and said
that the order was on Material Hold due to problems with the Interior Upgrade Package.
He said that Ford told him that all Mustangs with the IUP were on hold. Has anyone
heard anything about this? Thanks.

Welcome.....
Heres the IUP hold thread. Fear not, its just a hold- not a total removal, they will be here soon along with my v6 manual

Well, I just looked in a '05 GT with the IUP, so if there's a hold it's only on limited models.

The hold is only for orders that haven't been produced yet.

Not totally true. Mine was already produced (9/21) and was supposed to be delivered a week ago....It is among the 5000 that were put on the "quality" hold. I'm still waiting and no word on being released or shipped. Now it's beginning t bug me....

Quality hold is completely different than the IUP hold.
BTW - Mine is on quality hold and it doesn't have the IUP.

So any idea on what the quality hold is if it's not the IUP? I haven't heard of anything else and since people are getting cars now, with IUP and everything in between, what's up?

Mine had a build week of Nov1, then Nov. 8, then put on a temp hold, and now back to a Nov1 build week. A lot of it depends on the priority of your build. They are going to pull the higher priority ones first to use the available parts on.

Thanks for the info. I thought there might be a parts shortage. On the plus side,
the longer I wait, the more money I save up for the car. On the other hand, my
93 T-Bird has over 133,000 miles on it and the drone from the front wheel bearings
is getting louder. Thanks again.

I would think that SOOOOOOOOO many cars being ordered with the IUP are taxing suppliers.

I can see the MY2006 order guide now:

'Whats new:

IUP standard now on V6 premium coupes and standard on all GT models' B)

i wouldnt be surprised if it came standard on the GT models either. personally i think it would be a great idea, further seperating the v6 and GT trim levels
