Major TV event
For those that just missed it here is what happened: NBC's program American Dreams had their son, a marine, who was MIA, suddenly return home. During the program a 1967 Mustang ad shows up on a Bus and on the back of a magazine. Then Dad gives his son a 1967 GT to honor his son who was wounded. Ford also runs the Steve McQueen Cornfield ad. It's Mustang everywhere night.
After all this emotion, and it was a tear jerker, the best then comes: You see modern day Marines arriving at an airport in a Ford ad, the mom drives her son home in a new Five Hundred, Dad shows up in a 69(?) fastback and gives the young marine a new 2005. All are in tears by now, including you the watcher.
Then there is a short notice that somewhere it is on the Ford web site. Well I just happened to have the entire thing, 1 hour, on VHS tape since my son and I were messing with some home project until my wife alerted me 1/2 way thru the program.
I could convert the entire hour into an avi, will be a project tho.

Am I the only one who caught the word "Cobra" under the hood of the father's vintage 'stang?
Given its appearance, color, and "Cobra", I'd have to say 1968 Cobra Jet...

How do I download that?

I use a program called "Net Transport 1.92".
Download from http://www.xi-soft.com/download.htm
Install it then run
Go to Job>New Download and paste the link
(http://www.nbc.com/nbc/American_Dreams/ford.shtml) in the URL
section.
Sometimes the link will already be there.
it will find the file and download. The file is approx 23+MB in WMV format
In the Tools>Options is where you tell it to save the file

Yep, it's still up there at the Ford site. Man, even though I've seen that a few dozen times it still gets to me. As if just coming home isn't great enough, to have a new GT waiting for you...WOW! I pretty much know how it feels...the airport greeting, the drive home, the first "real" shower in who knows how long, all except for the whole car in the garage part. Me and Dad both have a star on our national defense medal, and I never got to drive his "other baby".
