Mach I , Boss and ?

Ford is known to be conservative. But, due to the Pontiac GTO and Daimler Chrysler having so many vehicles in the 340-425hp range, I expect Ford to produce an SE near the 400hp range. Especially with the Challenger & Camero on the way.
My best guess is that Ford will drop a SC 4.6L in the SE. But, I wouldn't rule out a 5.4L either. I want a 5.4L, and the longer we wait, the chances of us getting one increases. You know, sooner or later, the 5.4L will be in a (non-Shelby) Stang. If you recall, Ford said when they introduced the 2005 proto type, that there would be different engine options in the near future.
And GM has proved you can produce a 400hp car(GTO) for $33k, so I don't want to hear any excuses from Ford.

I think the most HP we'll see from the mach is in the 370/380 range, and i will be more than happy with that as long as the weight stays the same as the GT.

I think in the 90's we saw Ford be far too conservative with the power on the Mustang. However after 99 we seemed to had seen a shift in Power on the Mustang to higher numbers, especially in 03 with the Cobras 390 HP. And then come 05StangGT with 300HP and now 475+HP on the SHELBY
I dont see Ford being that conservative anymore with the Mustangs Power ratings. I think those days are over..........................for now.

I'd gladly pay for the 5.4 in an SE. I know I'm not willing to pay the markup for a GT500, and I'd be more able to afford something under 40k. Please, please Ford - bring us the 5.4 in an SE, making 390-425 HP. I can add stuff to it to reach 500 for a little more $$.

I think the new mach is gonna have the 4V 4.6 pushing around 360 HP. As much as i would love to see them throw a N/A 5.4 in it, i dont see it happening.

But then again who really knows? And more importantly... What can we do to make them talk!

The Mach engine has a nice set of intake cams to fatten up the midrange of the power curve. It's reasonably stout performance.
If a new version of this car ever got made, they would have to work to position it above the '05+ GT. My prediction is a 5.4L 3-valve engine tuned to around 400hp.
Unfortunately, still no word, and I doubt we will see anything for another 18-24 months if something does get made.

typically they'll use the same DOHC engines, and maybe with luck, bore them out a tad more. Oh and for reference, if you remember when that Cobra R was finally released, they were still blowing engines.
