Let the wait begin
My turn (to wait) has finally arrived. Ordered my GT vert from Capital Ford in Raleigh, NC. Great experience and a warm thanks to Htwag for recommending them. I had hoped to work through Karpro (he was great also) but I got a good deal locally from a high volume dealer that swears that allotment won't be an issue. I'll believe this when I see the car. Doug Haskins was my salesman. Went in Saturday and they let me drive a GT coupe and a V6 vert. No GT verts on the lot.
They asked what I wanted to pay and I asked for $500 over invoice. He shook his head with the sad salesman look and said he would ask. Came back as sure, no problem. I asked about doc fees and they wanted $379. Had another lead through the friend of a friend that offered me invoice plus $200 doc fee but they are a small dealer and cannot get anymore 05's. Called Capital back today and said I was looking for $500 over invoice with no additional doc fees, said we would do business today if they would accept. He called back 2 minutes later with another "Sure, no problem." I'm 41 and recently went back to school. Will finish my degree this May. Should qualify for the $500 credit recent grad program which brings me back down to invoice. It will definitely make a nice graduation present.
Many thanks to a great forum full of great people. I've been lurking for quite a while. Hope to contribute over time. The info learned here has been wonderful and I'm amazed at how well everyone seems to get along.

More good news for you is that since you ordered the vert you shouldn't be waiting as long as us coupe people! Congrats and many

After one day of waiting I can still honestly say that I hope everyone who's been patiently waiting get theirs first. My goal is to get it built this model year because it looks like Mineral Grey may go away. Would not be bothered too much if I had to switch to Titanium as on '06. One month from now I'm sure I won't be anywhere this grown up about it. I don't even want to think about how bad I'll be in 3 months.
Brad -- Thanks for bringing us back up. Can't believe that my order brought the whole site down.
