Too much stuff happens these days so I figure, live for today. I drove mine last winter but with all my mods, well, winter driving would be near impossible so I will be storing mine soon. If things were the same like the good ol' days I can understand why it would be a good idea to keep low mileage on the car. These days, well, I'm not so sure. I have over 29,000 km on my car and it will be 1 year old in about 20 days. After this winter it won't be my daily driver but I am sure it will still get at least 100km per week on it. So, drive it while you can. 20 years from now you might not be able to, let alone remember which house is yours (well, for some of you that is )

LMAO Touche'

What would you give to be able to get back the years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes even seconds you lost not driving your Mustang to "save" it?
This is true for some, however, some of us get the same enjoyment from just owning the car and knowing it is safe and in showroom condition and taking it out for an occassional drive...

As you stated - "To each his or her own" ...

In response to the above:

I mostly drive her on weekends, maybe 5 to 10 miles. Each time, it is like driving a new car, with that new car smell...

Since I plan on keeping this car for 20 years, I believe it will appreciate in value with low miles and in showroom condition...

20 years from now, I'll still be smiling... While some of you, will be long gone...

Well said. I know what you mean, but since this is my only car, and I love driving, I can't stand just watching it.

That said, Doesn't mean I won't be keeping this baby for 20 years...

Next week mine will be a year old and Have 840 miles so far.I didn't think there would be anyone with less but I was wrong.I try to keep from getting it wet or dinged up so the oppurtunity to drive around for the fun of it diminishes.I keep it waxed, clean and put my personal touches on it so there isn't another one just like it.

My 2005 GT will be 1 year old on 12/29/05 and I now have 3500 mi.. I thought that would be low. I love driving it on nice days and I hate to see it dirty so I don't drive it if rain is anticipated. I dust it off a lot but have only washed it 3-4 times. I will occasionally drive it in the winter if the roads are dry.

All of you guys that have less then 1000 miles in a year.... I think you should give me the car who'll use it the way it was meant to be used!

In 2025 The car will be worth about lets see... 1985 mustangs go for about 4000 bucks in mint condition.... new price was probaly around 10,000 in 1985.... so you might have about 10,000 in 2025 money.

In 20 years the internal combustion engine will be all but forgotten. In 10 years there will no longer be powerful V-8's being built. One more reason to keep it new! Oh, remember the movie "Demolition Man" and that Chevelle (is that what it was?) that was in mint condition underground in the old city?

I've had mine for almost 7 months, and now have 2900. I'm really surprised that's all I've put on it. I need to put some miles on it while it's still under warrantee.

It's funny, the colder it has gotten, the more I have driven it, knowing I must park it soon for 5-6 months. I've driven it so much lately that the battery in my other car ran down. I even parked my precious in some public parking lots Sunday!!

maybe it's just me but I don't think our cars will be considered classics in the future. Doesn't stop me from babying my car, I just don't think they will have the same value in 20 years that lets say a 67 has now.

I live in New England and am on my 3rd V-8 mustang in a row. I drive them all year long through rain, snow and blizzards - 18,000 to 20,000 fun miles per year. I've thought about buying a "winter" car here and there but I just can't see myself driving anything other than a mustang. My feeling is buy it, drive it, then buy another one! I should have an '06 vert this coming spring!

I have about 6300 on mine and I drive it everyday. 2.8 miles from home to work back home. I'm in a company truck driving for 10 to 12 hours a day. So like most others, I do my driving on the weekends

All this talk about "I don't drive my car and I'm proud of it"

What gives

And no, these cars won't appreciate in the future with the exception of the 07 Shelby Cobra, due to the production limits of course.

So enough with the talk about 2025. For the most part cars are a horrible investment, lets not kid ourselves here.

BTW, I have 15,000 miles in 11 months of driving.

What a shame!

I feel bad for the car trapped in that thing

Mustangs were meant to run wild.

20 years from now you will be crying that your 26k "investment" is worth nothing. Cars are NOT an investment as they depreciate like crazy.

These new mustangs aren't an investment, nor a collectible, smart guy. If ford only made 20,000 of them then you might have an argument, however that is not the case.

Mine's just over 1 year old and I have about 1300 miles on mine. Main reason is that I have 2 harleys and a 68 stang vert to share some of those nice days with. I take my corolla to work (44 miles 1 way) and it's only a year old and looks like it went into a bb gun fight with all the stone chips. Glad it didn't happen to my baby. It comes out on weekends and a few nights a week but nothing of a long duration as of yet. We will have to see how the next year goes.

Mine is my daily driver. It sits outside. I've got a 78 CJ-5 (Jeep) in the garage that I've done a frame off restoration on twice. Someday the Mustang will earn its spot in the garage too!

The '65 mustang was neither an investment or a collector at the time either.
In fact, the car was directed at the soccer mom of the day and was considered a "throw away" car.

4087 for me since May 5. She's down for her winter slumber.

You never know.
