I love getting in this car every day and firing it up and slamming through the gears. I have over 11,000 miles now coming up on my first year anniversary.

Maybe it's just me :scratch: but I don't get it, why own one NOT to drive? I absolutely LOVE driving my baby, even more so with my SLP's installed now. Gotta love hearing that sound while going under an overpass or through a tunnel. :drool:
My problem is I only get to drive really on the weekends since I work for the city and use public transportation here in NYC(for free). Plus, I couldn't see parking in the street for a long period of time w/o being close by so I wouldn't drive to work. The one & only time I took her to work, I parked her in a Marriot hotel garage which cost me $20 for the 8+ hours! :notnice:

Since 8/10/05 coming up on 3000 miles and that's with 1250 miles from Margate, Florida to Brooklyn, NY.

I mostly drive her on weekends, maybe 5 to 10 miles. Each time, it is like driving a new car, with that new car smell...

Since I plan on keeping this car for 20 years, I believe it will appreciate in value with low miles and in showroom condition...

20 years from now, I'll still be smiling... :-D While some of you, will be long gone... :crying:

Jeez, I have about 1,200 miles and I've had the car a little over a month!

5 months old 4100km's (2500 miles) Going into storage in about 2 weeks... So 1 year old it'll have about the same milage :)

I would say my milage is low to average. I have 8400 miles on her and I will have the car a year next month. Of course I don't drive it the 5 months that it is winter around here.

Ok, You keep your Stang 20 years, I invested $1000 in GE this year. Lets keep in touch and see who is smiling in 2025.

I just had my annual inspection. I had 6608 on her. Under 5,000 and I get an exemption on emissions.

I only drive her on weekends also.

I've had the car since 5/11, have a little over 1900 miles on her. And to all the people harping on the fact that some of us choose not to drive our Mustangs everyday, here's a few reasons for me:

1. I also plan on keeping mine for a long time. Not as an investment, just because I want to. My aunt still has her 69 vert, and it's so much fun to drive that car. Not saying you couldn't do that in 30 years if you drive the car a lot, but it certainly makes keeping the car in great condition easier if you don't drive it everyday.

2. I have to park in a crammed parking lot everyday. The door dings, bird crap, and general beatings the car would take, I like to try to avoid. Same with driving it to the store, and coming out to see a grocery cart crammed into the bumper, it's for peace of mind on my part. I babied my last car and it still had dings and dents all over it from driving it all the time.

3. Gas prices, now I don't think the GT gets bad gas mileage, but it doesn't compare to the 34-38 mpg I average in my civic. Is the civic as much fun to drive everyday, no, but you can't have much fun in bumper to bumper traffic anyway in the Mustang during rush hour traffic!

4. Not driving the Mustang everyday to work, makes those quick trips to the movie store, etc, even more fun. It's great to get in and have that new car smell and I love it. I guess I'm the type that would lose this feeling if I drove the car everyday.

5. It's America, I can do whatever the heck I want with my car! : )

I picked up mine on May 20th, and I just went over 5,000 miles. I'd have more miles by now, but it's rained almost every day this month. What's the point of driving this car in the rain....can't get on it. :notnice:

I've got 4300 on mine and it just past it's bday on the 22nd. I only drive mine on the weekends because my commute is a killer. Most of the miles are come on two trips. 1 trip to OC and one to Charlottesville. I drive it evry chance I get but since I don't take it out during the week or in rain the miles have stayed low. I like that in one way and hate it in another because I love driving it. Just can't bring myself to letting it get killed on the parkway one day....

I hear ya Jeff and the rest but I just feel that tomorrow isn't promised to anyone of us. God forbid something happens to anyone of us where we can no longer physically drive our Mustangs (the use of your legs, loss of your shifting arm etc.... death even). What would you give to be able to get back the years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes even seconds you lost not driving your Mustang to "save" it?

Now I also know that if anything bad like that ever happened one of us the last thing you or I would be worried about is driving, obviously family would come first but you get my point.

To each his or her own this is just my opinion. :nice:
