Thumbs up

I have noticed something evertime I open the hood of my new Mustang. The brake reservoir always has fluid leaked all over the top of it and around the cap. I have a buddy who has a 05 V6 also and has the same issue. Did they over fill it at the factory or do we have a defective cap?

Anyone have this same issue?

There a LOT of them out like this. Basically the rubber around the cap is not enough to seal it. I wrapped some electric tap around the threads of the resevoir, and it's been sealing pretty well.

Same problem here too - I have to wipe it up every two or three days...

Almost seems to be over filled.

Mine did it when I first got the car. Had Ford replace the cap when I took it in for the first oil change. Been fine ever sense.

Cool beans glad I'm not the only one with the problem. Going to add it to my list of things that need to be looked at tomorrow when I take it in.

Thanks for the response guys

Had the same thing with mine, but the reservoir had been filled too much (over the maximum line) so went to the dealer and they removed the extra fluid and it's now OK. No leakage since then !!

Yes. Mine leaked too. I just continued to wipe it up, and watch the level, as it came a little overfilled from the factory.

Now the level is where it sould be, and there is no more leaks.

use teflon tape (found at a hardware store) to wrap around the threads...

Good idea but I'd rather have FORD give me a new cap.
