I called two of my dealers in my small community. One told me they'll probably see the brochure in September. The other was a little more helpful.

He told me allocations include preoders. Meaning: If there store is only allocated 5 GT. They'll only get 5 including what was preordered. So, If you're the sixth guy in line you'll have to wait. Also with smaller dealers, they are not on the first round of deliveries, it could be months before their first round comes available.

I was thinking if I went to a dealership that had a strong allocation of the GT's I could get on the first round of deliveries.

If you order soon you won't have a problem getting one. They won't be that scarce.

Maybe that explains why I can't get any info from small dealerships here in Upstate SC. I am thinking I might try a larger town like Charlotte NC.

But then you have to deal with later delivery dates.

Getting one in California is going to be an adventure anyway. Big Mustang sales there. Good luck!

No, thats not necessarily true. Each dealership should get a few cars around the 29th of Sept.

I am waiting to see how many hit the lots. I know in Seattle there are a couple specialty lots that handle exotics who are already working with the local Ford dealer to pay premium to get the first batch delivered. They are going to sell them on their lot for a premium since they will be the only local place to have them. They did the same thing with the 350Z when it came out. They had 8 of them, the Nissan lots had 2.

That is correct Ford has a program in place for dealerships called WAS Weelky Allocation System to insure that all the roughly 5000 Ford dealers will end up with a few Mustang's (or whatever car/turck) will be there on sale with all the other Ford dealers

My dealership came through with the order guide. He assures me my GT will be on the trailer on the first delivery to his dealership.

That's not what I was told. I was told orders where seperate. My dealer said they would be getting 4 of their own. Of course he knew I was wanting to get mine in April so maybe that's why he said that. I'm not looking to get mine the minute they come available. I'd rather wait to enjoy that new car smell in the spring.
