My dealer is telling me that there is a holdup on the IUP. That I already knew, but I made it clear I was ordering a GT. I believe the V6 was the only one affected by this hold up. Is this some kind of joke because I want X plan? Or is this true? I did a search and it looks like only the V6 had a hold up due to IUP. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks for the clarification.

This has been a very common topic and may be you should've used the search option ... the hold on the IUP is only on the V6's and the GT's are not affected.

I stated in my post it was not clear and I had searched. This post was intended to clarify this for me. Thanks for doing so. Time to look for a new dealer in my area I guess. If anyone knows any good South bay area dealers that honor X plan and will not waste my time please PM me. Thanks.

While the hold on the IUP is affecting V6 orders for an undetermined amount of time, it IS still affecting GT orders as well. The difference is the GT's seem to be running with a TEMP HOLD status for about a week. I got my VIN 2 weeks ago, and it immediately went to a TEMP HOLD status, it was lifted this week and I'm scheduled to be built on 11/22.

Yeah, I upgraded to the GT just so I could get the IUP and a manual transmission. I order September 2 and was told it wouldn't be built with the IUP if I kept it a V6 which was fine because I planned on upgrading to the GT anyways since I had a long wait for the manual transmission. The guy told me he could have it built friday if I took off the IUP......yeah right buddy

I ordered my 05 Mustang GT (Premium) w/ the IUP as one of my options on 10/20.
The dealer called me the next day and told me that the order was submitted w/ no problems (material hold or temp delay) and they expect the car to arrive in six weeks (from date of order).
I don't have my VIN number yet (the dealer said they the VIN would be in this week, but as of Friday the dealer didn't have the number.

Would any holds or delays come up when the order is submitted, or does that only happen when the VIN is issued?
I asked the dealer about any holds or delays on the car and he said NO.

66 is correct, while v6s are NOT NOT NOT NOT going to be scheduled with IUP for the forseeable future, GTs may be delayed due to the product shortage.

The IUP is in short supply. So yes there is a hold on it. Ford decided to stop producing (temporarily) the v6 with the IUP so that GT orders with IUP could be supplied faster. But that does not necessarily mean that getting a GT with IUP will take the same amount of time without IUP. Cause there still is a supply problem. i would guess that orders without IUP are getting through the system quicker.

I went on hold with my GT/IUP after I got the vin and not before. It lasted two weeks but that was during the time they desided to hold V6's.
